Have to reach a bit here because of a tier break for me, but I like the player quite a bit. We can absorb some uncertainty and shoot for upside
1.08 - Quinshon Judkins, RB, CLE

Pikers. I’m going with pure, unfiltered homerism, board and need be damned!
1.09 Jaxson Dart, QB, NYG
I guess most people are happy with their QBs? I was expecting Cam Ward to go around pick 5, and only kept Danny Dimes in case two QBs came off the board before 1.09. I suppose it’s too late to drop Jones now, eh? heh.
I’ve added the 2026 trade to the end of the player list.

2026 Trades:
Justin’s 1st rounder for Jules’ 2nd rounder
@Jules_Andre is back on the clock.
You magnificent bastard, I salute you!
That is quite the reach. I’m impressed. And a tad jealous, even though I’m not in the market for a QB.
I think we all expected a homer pick there, but not that one. So that was an expected surprise! As for me, I’m really happy to go with more upside here. I think this guy should have been drafted higher:
1.10 - Matthew Golden, WR, GB

I thought there was a chance everyone was going to reach for 2nd or 3rd round RBs and Egbuka would fall to me at 11, though that was unlikely with Jules drafting 3 (THREE) times before me. I’m going to need a bit with this pick, sorry.
I’m not holding up the draft for trade offers as I have to do more research between a couple of guys, but if anyone that took one of the top RBs has someone at this spot they like, I’m open to trading for your already-drafted RB for the 1.11 and other stuff.
Very unlikely, because Egbuka was probably going to be my pick at 8 if he lasted. And definitely my pick at 10. I was really hoping to get him this year
That’s true. It’s pretty much guaranteed with you drafting ahead of me this year that you’re going to continuously snatch whoever I’m interested in. The RB reaches actually haven’t been bad this year so far.
(Obviously) I had my sights on Egbuka as well. He was my target at 1.07 from the start of my research. It would have been a tough choice if Harvey had fallen, but the board spared me that anguish.
We’re at 6 hours on the clock, just FYI. And this should be prime-time for getting picks completed on the opening evening.
You’re right, sorry guys, I’m working on it.
The players I was considering here were Kaleb Johnson, Colston Loveland, and Tyler Warren.
When I look at Kaleb Johnson I see a guy that ran through massive holes in college didn’t make a lot of plays out of nothing when they weren’t there. I also don’t like how much he runs laterally – I generally don’t like guys that fully turn their hips to face the sidelines, I like guys who move sideways while moving foward. That style has a harder time working in the NFL when the outside contain guys are so fast.
But he also had good vision for a stretch zone offense and he took what was there, which is good. He fast with good acceleration. He’s got a very good opportunity in Pittsburgh. But I see a guy who transitions poorly from his college situation to his pro situation and even though it’s so hard to get a running back in this league I considered taking him anyway. Traveon or Judkins would’ve been my picks had I been able to trade up.
The TE battle – I think Warren is a more fun player to watch and he’ll probably have a higher fantasy relevance in the first year or two. He’s a versatile player they used all over the field – taking direct snaps, doing lead blocking, quarterback trick plays. That’s fun to watch and if his NFL team designs their offense around that, it can definitely lead to fantasy success. He’s also probably got a better situation in Indy because there are fewer receivers competing for targets there.
The reason I ended up going with Loveland is that he broke out much earlier. Warren broke out in his senior season which generally doesn’t bode well for how talents translate to the NFL. Loveland is dominating at a much younger age and has room to grow. He also has draft capital. What’s his face in Chicago made LaPorta happen in his rookie year and he took Colston as his first pick, so no doubt he’s going to be featured in that offense.
I saw pretty harsh tier breaks at RB at this point and possibly at WR (I didn’t look too hard at the WRs at this point) but I still had the best TE available to me so I decided to go that way.
It’s Florio and it’s almost certainly an absurd fantasy and clickbait, but…
What would this league’s policy be should this happen? Does Jules retain the rights, or like in the NFL, does he re-enter the pool clean?
This would be such a raise and unlikely case that I don’t think we’d need to think too hard about the rule for it. I’d say that it’s not really fair (and hard to forsee) for someone to essentially lose their draft pick because of such a weird situation and I’d propose that Jules would retain the rights to him even if he got drafted by another team next year. The mechanics of it would be a little weird, maybe we’d require Jules to keep a slot open for him because he wouldn’t actually exist on yahoo, or maybe not, and we’d just add him to Jules’ roster before the draft as a keeper. I think it’s pretty unlikely to happen but requiring someone to give him up so someone else can draft him the next year doesn’t seem fair at all.
With him not existing in Yahoo Jules would effectively gain a free roster spot to bank the player. He’s not on IR, it’d be more like a contract holdout. Maybe we can nominate a player who exists on Yahoo but is retired/completely washed and make him a Judkins placeholder.
Or maybe Yahoo will come up with a fix of their own and keep Judkins in the system allowing Keeper leagues to make their own decisions.
1.12 Kaleb Johnson RB Pit
@Omniscient is on the clock.
That makes sense to me, requiring him to use a roster slot similar to a holdout seems reasonable.
Retired players exist in Yahoo after they leave the league. I imagine it would be the same thing here, just having an NA designation
