Curse my irrational hatred of the Bills! I never should have cut their Defense.
I really want to make a trade - it’s what I do - but my team is just so well balanced right now (even more so since it looks like Ameer Abdullah is going to be in a 50/50 timeshare at worst). I suddenly even have a surfeit of tight ends, which is historically my weakest position by far, even if the Josh Hill experiment doesn’t pan out.
Beef, I’m in position to win now (as long as Stringer’s team all come down with some tropical disease). If I traded, it would have to be for a QB upgrade. So you can have Matt Ryan and Shane Vereen for Aaron Rodgers.
ETA: I suppose I could roll with the St. Louis defense long term if you want to throw out something for the Texans.
lol
I’d actually be willing to move Rodgers, but it’d be for more than Shane Vereen.
Well, Matt Jones will almost certainly be the Redskins’ starter this time next year, so I’m not anxious to give him up… but I would if you’d rather have him. I’d also toss in Josh Hill, Ty Montgomery and Jermaine Kearse if you want them.
So far, Dion Lewis is looking like the steal of the draft. Unfortunately , he plays for the Patriots and I’ll never feel 100% comfortable starting him each week.
I wonder what kind of FAAB war we will have for 37 point Travis Benjamin.
Allen Robinson is tearing it up. I think he finishes around WR15 art the end of the year.
It’ll be a serious war. I need WR help in the worst possible way, I pulled a zero with Roddy White.
How weird, I’m going to probably hit 150 points this week with no production at all from 2 rushing positions (combined 3.5 points for 2 positions) and my best player on my bench.
Oh, Justin, you poor bastard. I think you’re in trouble this year.
Funny how big a shift there can be week to week. After last week I was nearly convinced I needed to start rebuilding. Now I’m back to the thing where my whole bench is killing it (and giving me impossible decisions every week probably), and I feel like I’ll probably cruise to a division title.
I’m probably in the market for a backup QB (Romo broke his collarbone, 8 weeks), and Cleveland apparently doesn’t want to just let Manziel play. So, I’d be interested in a pure fantasy backup for cheap, or a guy who can steal the odd start from Cam Newton with a good matchup for a little less cheap. I’ll take a look when I get home, but anyone with a QB to move should hit me up.
I can’t believe I didn’t snatch up James Fucking Jones again. It would be so perfect if he was winning games for me again.
I think this is Allen Robinson’s coming out party. RNATB and I almost had a bet that he would hit 1000 yards this season. Because Jacksonville hasn’t had a 1000 yard receiver in 10 or 15 years, and what happened on the 2006 Jaguars means Allen Robinson is fucked.
Despite having the highest score this week, my RB situation is pretty dire. At least Ellington is only a little banged up. I got 4.5 and 0 from my RB2/flex spots. But I have other options at the flex at least.
Does anyone want to be patient on Cordarelle Patterson? He managed to be the top scorer in the last 5 weeks of his rookie season but no one has done anything with him since. I’d probably take scraps at RB if anyone wants him. I guess I’d have to think about it.
That wasn’t why Robinson won’t have 1,000 yards this season. It was merely a data point. Robinson won’t have 1,000 yards because Bortles doesn’t throw enough (or well enough, yet) to support a 1,000 yard receiver. He’s certainly on pace to make it right now but I watch a lot of Jaguars football (thanks, NFL media market assignment people!) and he’s going to put up some duds moving forward, especially once Julius Thomas comes back.
In other news, Matt Jones is a beast. Of course, he was on my bench since no sane person would predict that the Rams would give up 100 yards on the ground to a part-time player. Other than Edelman, all my starters underperformed this week.
Picking up the Jaguars’ defense looks like a savvy long-term move. They are going to be great if Bortles can keep the turnovers down.
Also I don’t remember if we ever discussed this, but can we use FAAB in trades? It seems like it could help balance out close trades, or be traded straight up for borderline rosterable players. I don’t see why not.
Don’t you already own him in this league?
I don’t know why anyone would want to spend big for him. He appeared in all 16 games last season and did exactly jack. Sure, he might be Torrey Smith, but all odds are that he’s Josh Morgan.
ETA: IIRC, the last time we talked about trading FAAB you or Varlos said we couldn’t do it because it was too difficult to manually correct FAAB budgets to reflect trades. I don’t think anyone who had a problem with it.
I do own him, I’m just being a dick.
Benjamin had an ACL tear in 2013. He was looking pretty good before then. He was terrified of injury in 2014 and didn’t play well at all, most people including myself wanted to cut him. But in 2015 it looks like he has confidence in his knee and he’s playing at full blast. Look at the highlights - the dude is just ridiculously fast even by NFL standards. And Johnny definitely has a thing for him. Johnny is just doing that “fuck it, I’m going deep” thing going and Benjamin consistently runs behind the defense. He should be worth a lot of FAAB, were he available.
I don’t recall it being difficult to manage FAAB budgets - you just subtract from one player and add to another.
I’m strongly in favor of allowing FAAB to be included in trades
I am in a SHIT-TON of trouble this year. D-Jax, LaFell, and Alshon Jeffery are all gone on multi-week injuries. And someone punched Drew Brees with Kryptonite. Le sigh…
But if you need a backup QB, I’d be willing to give up Andy Dalton. He’s not terrible this year!
What do you want for Jameis?
