SDMB Fantasy Football DYNASTY league: Year Ten

Quick question:

If I remember correctly, last year we conducted a supplemental draft after the regular draft, for owners to replace players who went on IR during last year’s offseason (Edelman, Enunwa, Ware, Dixon, etc). I would like to do that again, and throw my name into it for Marquis Lee, who I’ll be putting on IR as soon as it’s available.

Last round I wanted this guy but couldn’t pass up Ronald Jones due to BPA-itis, but this guy is still available now so Merry Christmas to me:

3.05 Dante Pettis, WR, SF

I’m all for it, but there have been complaints that the draft is too complex and one of the proposed simplifications was to eliminate the supplemental draft. I don’t think anyone objected to cancelling it, so I think it’s currently scrapped.

If we’re voting, I vote yes, let’s do it. I always found it to be a charming feature of this league.

I have never in my life found anything charming.

3.06 Antonio Callaway, WR, Cle

The supplimental draft - it seemed like people were against it for the most part and wanted to kick it as part of simplifying the draft, so I just sort of short tracked it without an official vote and called for objections to just getting rid of it. Seemed like no one objected, so I figure we were just going to scrap it.

I think it only applied to people who were hurt after they were drafted anyway, right? Not just any player who was on hurt - if they were already out for the year when you drafted them that was your choice and it didn’t come with an extra pick.

For 3.06, Callaway is just a talent pick here. Not even a homer thing. He had first round talent but off the field issues, and he’s been looking quite good in preseason. He’s third WR and it’s usually hard to get production out of those, but I’ll draft talent and hope something good comes of it eventually.

3.08 Marcus Murphy RB Buf

Need to build some RB depth, and Murphy is looking to get the #2 spot behind McCoy. In fact he is one ill-timed robery away from starting.

It was for people who were hurt after the season end and before the draft. It was a way to ameliorate the problem of offseason injuries. Last year, it was this:

1.04 Ellis [for Kenneth Dixon]
1.05 RNATB [for Spencer Ware]
1.06 Justin [for Julian Edelman]
1.08 Omni [for Tajae Sharpe]
1.09 Petey [for Quincy Enunwa]
1.12 Beef [For Cameron Meredith]
2.09 Petey [for Ryan Tannehill]

This year, looking at IR, it would simply be Marquis Lee and Hunter Henry, so two extra picks at the end. Rookies, or any player drafted already with an injury, like Guice, would be ineligible.

We did it last year, right after the real draft was completed and knocked it out in like 8 hours because it started at night. I didn’t see any complaints or anything about it being a hassle or anything at all in that thread. Unless I’m missing something, it seems like a nothing sandwich to do. It’s not a huge deal, given the talent left, but I never thought it was a problem.

Credit Card fraud, pot, ammo, and guns. What’s not to like! They really better keep him and Josh Gordon (sorry JOSH GORDON) away from each other.

3.09 Teddy Bridgewater QB NO

3.10 Geronimo Allison, WR, GB

Bridgewater is a nice pick, I didn’t realize he was unowned. They could give him a shot at starter in NO when Brees retires.

PM to RNATB sent.

Draft results are up to date.

Draft is moving along at a good pace, and so far not many complications at all. We’ll be done well ahead of the deadline. Good work.

I don’t feel super strongly about it but I’m a soft No on the supplemental draft. We already have an Auction Draft, the Waiver Wire.

3.11 - Jordan Akins, TE, Hou. I thought Allison might drop to me, but this works fine.

I’m agnostic about the supplemental draft. I don’t like it, but I took advantage of it last year so I’d feel bad about voting against. Beef, you’re up.

Fuck it.

3.12 Josh Allen QB Buf

Can someone pm Dale? Pain from phone.

Fuck it, indeed.

Done.

Well, I guess my move up offer is off the table. Interesting round. Looking forward to doing a write-up and reading others’ thoughts on this draft.

4.01 Mark Walton RB Cincinnati

Can someone send a PM for the next up? It’s a pain on the phone.
