hahahahahh
Well this sucks. Greg Zuerlein pulled his groin in pregame warmups, so I got a 0 from the kicker that otherwise would have put me over 150 for the week. Now Omni just needs a good all-around night from the Bears against suddenly-mediocre Seattle. On the bright side, that $52 bid for Philip Lindsay looks pretty good now.
On the plus side, now Tom Brady will be throwing to Josh Gordon and it’s gonna be ridiculous.
On the downside, I’m going to be fucking miserable watching him be a star for another team.
I’m willing to move one of my RBs for a WR. Howard, Ajayi, Drake, Chubb, Chris Thompson for a comparable WR. Send offers if interested, I’ll send a few out.
Does anyone have any display issues with the tables in [post=21202105]Post 307[/post]? Specifically, any scrolling or line break issues when viewing on a phone?
I’d like to add rank changes to the tables, but need to know if the current width is already broken or if I can comfortably use the 83 -character width in the tables above. (I can shorten the owner names to fit a rank column in.)
Something like:
Rank
1.
2. -1
3. +2
All of the tables get messed up when I look at them on the phone in portrait. Only the second table is fine in landscape. I took screenshots if you need them.
Thanks much for the screen shots, Jules, that was exactly what I needed. These tables should now fit on your phone in landscape with 1 character to spare. It’s all kind of squished, but still readable I think.
The green and red numbers show your change in the rankings for that table compared to last week.
The top two tables show your actual posted scores, both current week and season totals. The season totals match up to what yahoo shows right now, so that’s a good sign. The bottom two tables show the maximum possible scores you could have posted with perfect prediction, both for the current week and season average.

Shouldn’t the last column in the bottom two tables say GM? This is really cool by the way, and not only because I have the best season grade.
The Coach columns are technically duplicates. There are three sets of numbers:
- Actual points scored (top row)
- Potential points you could have scored (bottom row)
- Coach = Actual / Potential (both top and bottom rows)
Coaching is a combination of both Actual and Potential so it’s equally relevant (and thus included) in both the top and bottom tables. You can see that the coaching grades in the left tables are identical top and bottom, same for the right.
For example, you scored 144.14 out of 161.54 this week, which is 89.22%, so you show 89% B+ as your coaching grade in both Week 2 tables.
I could move the coaching grades to a third row, pulling them out of the top two rows. That would allow more spacing in all the tables to make it easier to read. Would that be better, do you think?
Yes. Definitely yes.
The Coach score just throws off my sense of balance when trying to read the information in the table. Seeing it in a separate row would help a lot.
Yeah, as soon as I typed the question I thought it sounded like a clearly better idea. I was going to wait until week 3 to post the new format, but putting grades in their own row adds new information: Your change in rank from last week. I also changed the headers to hopefully be more intuitively obvious.

I think I like this format much better. The data is clearer, the presentation is easier to read, and it’s even less wide making it more phone-friendly. Jules’ screen shots showed an absolute maximum of 61 characters in landscape. The previous tables were 60 characters, but these new ones are down to 50.
Tonight looks to be my Waterloo, where putting too many eggs into too few baskets ends in crushing defeat. I’m starting:
Jarvis Landry, WR, Cle
Quincy Enunwa, WR, NYJ
Carlos Hyde, RB, Cle
Bilal Powell, RB, NYJ
New York, DEF, NYJ
Landry and Hyde are clear starters for my team, but the rest are coach’s calls. They’re projected a point or two lower than my crappy alternatives, but have comfortably outscored the alternatives so far this season.
STARTING
27.00 Quincy Enunwa, WR, NYJ
Sam Darnold’s favorite target, and has made good use of all the targets he’s getting. This is the first time I’m starting him; fingers crossed he validates my choice to draft him with my final pick this year.
23.50 Bilal Powell, WR, NYJ
Splitting carries with Isaiah Crowell, and both have looked good in both games so far.
42.00 New York, DEF, NYJ
They put up a monster 30-point fantasy romp in week 1 against the Lions, then quietly added another 12 last week against the Dolphins. They seem to be a solid bet against the Browns despite being projected slightly lower than both Dallas against the Seahawks and Pittsburgh against the Bucs. They’re running away with the fantasy point race out of my four team defenses, for sure.
BENCHED
22.50 TJ Yeldon, RB, Jax
Now that Fournette is back his value as a starter has evaporated.
11.20 Sterling Shepard, WR, NYG
Based on last week, the Giants could be looking at the #1 overall pick next year. Outside of Beckham and Barkley, stay far away from Big Blue.
9.40 Jamison Crowder, WR, Was
Yahoo projections consistently overrate this guy, projecting double-digits in all 3 weeks so far. He has yet to crack double-digits as a season total. Happy to bench this guy, who can’t seem to pull it together in this, his contract year.
Yahoo projects my 5 starters tonight to score a combined 48.45 points; I’m hoping for well over 50.
For posterity, all three “coach’s choice” Jets players under-performed, earning roughly half their projections, but Hyde and Landry both killed it, netting exactly 40 points between them. The other three pulled in 19 for a total of 59, so at least the week is starting out okay.
Callaway utterly destroyed Claiborne every play. Only constant holding and a half with Tyrod Taylor kept him from a huge game. I’m really happy with him so far. He may end up being rookie WR of the year.
Well, not every play. There was one right before halftime where he jogged his route and almost got Mayfield picked off. But he’s like all of your receivers: he’ll be fine if he stays on the field, but he’s just as likely to be suspended and/or in jail. You’re like the Al Davis of fantasy; sometimes I wonder if you actively seek out character issues.
See if I don’t send my goon squad after you.
Do I start Gordon this week?
I’ve been rooting for Dale the last couple of seasons but I need a division win and we’re looking at a 50/50 projection matchup.
I don’t think I can start Gordon because he’s questionable (actual questionable by the reporting, not just Pats questionable) in a late game. Which means he scores 3 TDs easily.
Like a majestic Elk is Josh Allen.
Espn is reporting that Gordon won’t be active.
I’m liking my Calvin Ridley draft pick, even though it was criticized.
Interesting MNF matchup between me and Overly Sentimental: I’m leading by a mere 1.49 points and have Big Ben to his Antonio Brown.
If everything goes to projection, I’ll win by 3.54 points and Overly will lose with the third highest point total of the week. It could obviously go either way, but all signs point to one of us suffering a bad beat. I really hate posting one of the best point totals in a week and losing.
