Looks like Sporting News is sporting a free fantasy football league for the playoffs. Since everything else is over and done with, this is something that needs to happen. I believe sign-ups are unlimited, but if it fills up, tough titties.
Plug your team name into the entry box on the above, screen, and you’ll be sent to a sign-up page, where you’ll have to register an account (or login if you’re already a member). After logging in, you’ll be sent to a league sign-up page, where you’ll enter the following information:
Division: Jim Mora’s PLAYOFFS?!? League
Password: cecil
He is. You just have to do a search on him. Just plug in “Roeth”.
The set-up is pretty messy - much like most of Sporting News’ fantasy content. All they seem to have done is import their pre-2004 season data, and *maybe * have adjusted the salary amounts to year-end data.
I’m very interested in seeing people’s rosters once the deadline is reached. There’s a lot of interesting potential.
Rest easy, compadres, I’ve signed up. This will be my first time in a salary cap league, but at least I won’t be saddled with the 13th pick in the draft this time.
And you’re right Munch. That site is damn ugly and hard to navigate. I love their magazine though.
We can buy and sell players at any time during the playoffs, correct? Not to give away my stra-ti-jury, but signing a bye week player when you can sign them next weeks seems to be kinda silly, isn’t it? Just wondering if I got the rules right.
Hamlet, you are correct. However, you’re given a limited number of transactions - 6. You can also buy more transactions, but I say we try to not do so, and keep it competitive on an even playing field. 'Course, there’s nothing keeping you to that, I really don’t know where you all live (or so you think).
Sorry, I only got this far into your post and I fell on the floor in amazement.
Let’s get a few more players (or playas as some of them like to be called) in the league. I’m looking at you Mundi, neuroman, Omniscient, and the others…
I’m gonna take a pass on this one, I’ve had my fill of fantasy football for right now. Also, doing anything fantasy related with the post-season just seems weird to me.
