SDMB Fantasy Football?

Can someone post the results of the draft or provide a link so any of us that are interested can see the teams?

QB - McNair, McNown, and Culpepper

RB - E. James, R. WIlliams, Dayne, JJ Johnson, and my super-sleeper M. Basnight

WR - M. RObinson, E. Moulds, J. Horn, T. Holt, and P. Price

TE - Walls, and Sharpe!!

K - Matt Stover

DEF - C. Kennedy, T. Spikes, B. Dawkins, and P. Sparks

There will have to be some tweaking (at some point I’ll need another kicker to cover the bye week), but all in all I feel pretty good about this bunch. That is, until half of them go down with achilles tendon and knee injuries!!

Well, that’ll teach me to leave the board for longer than 12 hours. I miss the chance to sign up in the Sandbox league and I’ll be kicking myself for weeks to come. I will win Yahoo, I will win Yahoo.

I’ll counter Gazoo with this team.

Of course how does he get Sharpe and Walls and I have David Freakin’ Sloan???

QB Brad Johnson
Rob Johnson
Shane Matthews(see ya)
Brian Griese

RB Fred Taylor

Bob Christian (say goodbye)

WR Antonio Freeman

Albert Connell

TE David Sloan

K Jeff Wilkins

“This game is temporarily offline?!?!?!?!?”

Okay, from memory:

             QB:

Jeff Blake
Jeff Garcia
Drew Bledsoe
RB:
Marshall Faull
Terrell Davis
Jamal Lewis
Thomas Jones
WR:
Germain Crowell
Joey Galloway
Ed McCaffrey
Ike Hilliard
Carl Pickens
TE:
Freddy Jones (ugh)
K:
Seattle
Washington (who cares about their names – they’re kickers!)
DL:
Lance Johnstone
Reggie McKenzie (not anymore)
LB:
errr – I forget. Greg Biekert, I think.
DB:
Donnie Abraham
Willie Williams

A little too much invested in rehabs and rookies for comfort, but it might have a big upside. Of course, it might also crash and burn in glorious technicolor.

hmmm – looks like he might miss his wakeup call by a few weeks.

Omni - I made the Sandbox league a 10-teamer because

  1. I assumed only about 20 people will follow through and commit to being in a league-- thus, 10 for Sandbox and 10 for Yahoo. With what I’ve seen in this thread, that number might be a little higher, but not much.

  2. Ever been in a 15- or 20-team league? It’s not as much fun, IMHO.

Starting another league is as simple as a few mouse clicks and a few typed lines, folks.

As for my draft, I think I’ll be OK. All of my QBs are good, but have a tendency to get injured: Brunell, Batch and Chandler.

I’ve got Duce Staley, Curtis Martin and Priest Holmes among my RBs; at WR I’ve got Westbrook, Toomer, that good young guy from the Browns, and Tony Martin. Pretty deep.

Tony Gonzalez at TE, which is good.

And on defense I got my main bad-ass from last year, Ray Lewis. Anybody who doesn’t like it, Ray’ll have his boys take care of ya.

Sandbox league seems pretty balanced, post-draft. Now’s when the stragedy starts.

DAMMIT!!! Waiver wire, here I come!!

Boy the Bengals are beating the hell out of themselves. First Basnight, now Darnay Scott!

Damn! Newbie-ish here - saw this too late. Just joined my work league via Sandbox - same group as last year.

Sandbox does an awesome job (esp. since it’s free). The trades and waiver system keeps you on your toes; the draft is only the beginning.

You, can, FYI join more than one league in Sandbox from one computer. I did it last year just by registering w/ two email addresses, and then using IE for one league and Netscape for the other (so the cookies remained set).

Y’all have a great time. Post some of your better-trash talk here, perhaps?

Count me in on the Yahoo league whenever it gets started.
