All right…figured I’d start a new thread to see who was interested. We did a Yahoo league last year…I know Satan and Omni were in the league. We had a blast, it was free, and so I’m checking to see who wants in this year. (As I told a friend…my office league is for money. SDMB league is for PRIDE.)
Well, you know, if there’s space. I will feel bad since the rest of the league is relegated to fighting for second place, but I’ll do my best to not rub it in.
I’m in if there’s room. Of course, IMO, anyone who played last year would have first dibs. Hell, it free though, we can start as many leagues as we want.
Hey, I’m opening this up to everyone. IIRC, Satan’s brother, who isn’t a doper, was in our league last year. And as for number of teams allowed…I dunno if Yahoo has a limit. If not, then as many as want in are welcome.
The more for me to beat, the better. (Mully, what you mean second place…I’m gonna whip your ass!)
Count me in. I missed this last year (signed up to the board too late), and missed baseball (didn’t have internet access); now I’m itching to show off my vast understanding of sports.
(In other words, I’ll be lucky if I don’t come in last.)
As a back to back Fantasy Football League champion (not with you guys), count me in.
I generally hate Yahoo’s fantasy league sports. I think http://www.sandbox.net does a much better job. But I’ll follow wherever the herd would like to go.
For those of you feeling smug for how you’re kicking my butt in the SDMB fantasy baseball league, watch out. You’re entering MY season now. Heh-heh-heh …
Yes, it is hard to remain humble when you’ve dominated the entire baseball season up to this point, but…
I would like to try my hand at the football season also.
You know I’m in. You don’t expect last years commish to let this pass by.
Yahoo was OK last year, except I fucked up one of the fields to grossly bias the league towards QBs. I’d try Sandbox this time, or Yahoo. I’ve been in Yahoo’s Baseball and Football for two years each already and have no real complaints. Sandbox turned out well for the March Madness Brackets, and I did win $100 gift certificate for whipping you punks there. Either one…or both, its up to who ever decides to be the commish. I highly reccomend setting up a live draft however. Thats my only opinion, and if we need a new commish I’ll do it again. Although someone with more time might want to step in.
Omni! Was wondering how long it’d be before you stepped up!
I don’t think I can commish…my life is turning into a MASSIVE rollercoaster with looking for a job and possibly moving. So if you could do it, Omni, I’d love you forever…or whoever ELSE volunteers.
If you’re going to set up a Sandbox league, do one where you rank your draft sheets by position, rather than the one where you have to pick your highest priority players regardless of position.
For example, you rank AFC wide receivers; NFC wide receivers; NFC QBs, AFC QBs, etc.
Then the positions are drafted in random order, with each team’s drafting position changed from group to group.
It tends to keep things balanced. If you pick lower for a quarterback, for example, you’re likely to have one of the top running backs or wideouts.
To hell with Sandbox. With Yahoo, you can do a live draft via Java.
I want to start a Yahoo league with a live draft. Last year we had insane rules in the Yahoo league which made me cry (no offense to those who did it - it was a learning experience as we were all newbies for the most part).
How about a quick vote here for that?
Oh, and you DO rank your players on Yahoo, so if you can’t make the draft, it will still try and pick along with your selections.
As was noted before, i do have siblings who would be interested, but I can go in two leagues at once. Hell, I did last year…
Yer pal,
Satan
