Instead of Trent Richardson in dynasty? Fuck yeah I would think that was strange.
You still don’t have the best team Beef. I outscored you by 100 on the season, and lost in the championship by less than 5 points. And one of my best RBs
was on IR the entire season.
I’m a Browns homer and really wanted Richardson, but let’s not go crazy with him. 6 times a year he has to play 3 of the top defenses in the league. Do you think he’ll be posting monster stats against Cinci, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh? And with questionable offensive support around him.
I love the guy, but he’s a rookie in a tough situation - he’s not even the consensus #1 rookie pick of this draft.
And you did outscore me for the year. But my team is younger and just now hitting their peak. I passed you up during the playoffs last year and there’s no turning back.
I think if people were to choose whether to have your roster or mine, most would pick mine. Factoring in Richardson.
Plus, I had Finley sitting on my bench all year long too while the 2 other TEs were setting records. Swapping Graham for Richardson and playing Finley gives me more value on the active roster this year.
Probably true but my roster is deeper and I can absorb injuries much better. Your team will be clearly better than mine in a couple years but right now my team is just as good or better.
I don’t mean to downplay your team, it’s pretty awesome. And I think next year is going to be close - I’m looking forward to our matches. I do think, overall, in a dynasty contest, I have the best roster.
And I’m quite serious about Calvin Johnson. VARLOS!
I can’t wait until Gronk fails to repeat his numbers from last year (he’ll be good, but there’s no way he even sniffs 17 TDs). In other words, the fantasy gods are going to smite you!
I agree that it’d be hard for Gronk to repeat - I mean, how often does a player repeat an all-time record breaking season? But I think he’ll still clearly be as valuable as any tight end has been in fantasy football, and produce like a top 8ish receiving threat, which is still immensely valuable from the TE position. Even 1100/12 would be one of the all time great TE seasons and I think that’s fairly likely.
On the other hand, I’ll have Richardson starting over Starks/Blount which should be a pretty big upgrade, and Finley will be a dropoff from Graham but not as dramatic as it was last year.
I’m concerned about Jordy Nelson coming back to Earth though - surprise hit receivers often do. OTOH, Manning to Demaryius Thomas will offset some of that.
FWIW, I looked at a bunch of average draft position charts and Graham gets drafted ahead of Richardson in most of them. Does that change for dynasty? Not really - rookie running backs hit the ground running and Graham is only going into his third year, it’s not like he’s got half his career over.
The ADP from different sources can be pretty different at this time of year though.
The most broad based one I’ve seen so far is ESPN, which has Graham as #20 and Richardson as #27.
For what it is worth, I’m back in the States and just starting to get back into the fantasy football thang. I really like this league (despite the repeated beating Lady Luck has put on me every damn year), so I’m starting to look it over a bit more. Some thoughts:
I’d prefer an in-thread draft with a 12 hour time limit rather than an online draft.
I love the hubris and can’t wait for karma to strike.
I need to get my crap together. This league demands a bit more detailed knowledge of the lower level of depth charts in the NFL.
I’m really happy I own Eric Decker. Not so enamored with the injury to Adrian Peterson though.
I have the number 3 pick in the draft (I think). I also have Matthew Stafford and Phillip Rivers. If anyone is interested in trading up for RGIII or Luck, just let me know.
Depends how far I fall down. I’d swap picks for some sleeper/non starter that I like, or just give it for a player who would start on my team like I did last year. Anything you have in mind?
He mentioned it in post 8 of the thread and then again that he was going to trade the pick, so you’ve had a while. Or maybe you floated an offer and meant to having achance ot increase it.
As far as being punished for hubris, the fantasy gods must be storing it up. I had hubris last year when all I did was win 3 SDMB fantasy leagues, and also the year before that when I had the best overall season of fantasy football across all SDMB leagues that anyone will ever have.
Just looking at last year’s first round. What a crapfest that turned out to be compared to what it seems like this year could be.

Only Green, Newton, and Nelson are looking good although Julio Jones may live up to his billing yet.
I’m still pretty amazed I snagged Nelson that late, I think he was like #3 or #4 on my pre-rank list and he should’ve never been in the draft. I’m thankful the stupid autodrafter correctly made my pick there, because if had done something retarded (as it later did drafting me a kicker for no reason in the third round when I had plenty of ranked players available) and I missed Nelson because of that I’d have been furious all year.
