I’d celebrate, but I’m terrified Phillip Rivers may fumble during a post game press conference and it’ll turn into a loss.
Stringer, if it makes you feel any better, Wilson lost to me by 0.03 in the HHM playoffs last year.
God, this is a terrible year to have a good draft pick, unless Atlanta drafts someone to replace Michael Turner.
So, anyone know when the stats are finalized and no more corrections are made? Today? Wednesday? Is it Elias? I want to gloat about winning despite an injured QB and piss poor QB play, but I’m terrified that karma has a butt kicking coming my way.
In the regular season they can be applied as late as Friday. I assume Thursday is the cutoff in the playoffs.
Yeah they are inconsistent as to when stat corrections are processed. I am saving my congrats for Hamlet until it’s official.
No stat correction help for me. Congrats Hamlet, it’s weird that our trade was really not a factor in the outcome of our matchup.
First time in the history of this league that I am not in the finals. I guess it had to happen eventually.
Whoah. That’s a pretty impressive run. I forgot you played me the first year.
Thanks. If it is any consolation, Reggie Wayne’s bad game (along with Roddy White’s) cost me a shot at the finals in my money league.
furt! I’m coming for you!!
Yeah, figures.
Colin Kaepernick. My season comes down to Colin Kaepernick.
C’mon Seattle defense. You’ve fucked me before, so you can make it up to me by holding Kaepernick to less than 20 points.
After being thrilled at the poor start for Kaepernick, I’m now convinced that garbage time and prevent defense is going to cost me a win.
Seattle doesn’t have a prevent defense. They are killkillkill all the time.
Congratulations to Hamlet, our 2012 SDMB Dynasty League Champion!
For years he’s been our biggest hard-luck case, going a combined 27-29 (7th-best W-L record) in the regular season despite finishing 1st, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd in points scored (his four-year average of 1743 puts him second behind only Stringer, and considerably ahead of third place Beef). No doubt this was the karmic price to be paid for landing Adrian Peterson with the 3rd overall pick of our inaugural draft, but at long last the clouds have parted, the Gods have smiled, and our merciful Lord and Savior has gently pronounced, “It’s ok, son; that’ll be enough of the ass-raping for now.”
It’s a very solid all-around team. Instead of dominating one position, they were just very good at each of them. He did, of course, have Peterson’s ridiculous year, and along with Jamaal Charles and the surprising Alfred Morris that gives him 3 of the top 9 RBs this year, but he didn’t acquire Charles until very late in the season, and so-so TD and reception numbers have meant that Peterson, though the #1 RB, hasn’t exactly lapped the field (as sometimes happens). The WRs might be the closest thing to a weak link, but of course not really when they’re anchored by Brandon Marshall and Percy Harvin, with more than enough talent to round out the other spots (Steve Smith, Eric Decker). Of course, much of this team’s future will hinge on whether or not Robert Griffin fulfills his destiny as the fantasy QB Michael Vick was *supposed *to be. So far, that’s actually looking lilke a pretty good bet … which is a scary proposition.
Congratulations to the Champ.
Note: Points Scored averages aren’t precise, since I rounded to the nearest whole number when entering individual totals in order to save time and space on my legal pad. But it’s close enough.

Miscellaneous
– Without trying at all, I think we’ve achieved a nice level of parity between the divisions, as you can see above.
– **Stringer **has gone 11-3 for three straight seasons (he was a paltry 9-5 in our first season).
– **RNATB **is on a troubling trajectory. His yearly points scored, in chronological order: 1818, 1510, 1440, 1369.
– RetroVertigo has had our most consistent team: every year his total points have fallen between 1485 and 1568.
– The Northeast Division has been in it’s own little parity-heavy world. Out of 16 total team/seasons, only 3 have ended more than one game over or under .500 (the other two divisions have each had 10), with only one to share between furt, Justin, and myself.
Thanks!
I’d like to thank the veteran’s, especially the Cute Widdle Bunny’s MVP, Adrian Peterson. Not only was he the #1 RB, but he also was a helluva lot of fun to watch. Thanks to Brandon Marshall, the #2 WR, and a special thank you to Jay Cutler for not being able to throw to anyone else. Steve Smith? Where’s Steve Smith? Oh, hey Steve. A special thank you for remaining relevant and finishing in the top 20 for two years in a row after everyone else had written you off. You were a huge help in the playoff run.
And to you young guns, who really put it together and helped out during the season. Percy, dude, you’re a stud, but for the love of god stay healthy for once. You could be a top 5 WR if you could keep it together. And Eric, man, dude, you only needed a great QB to come up big, a top 20 guy. When Percy went down, you were right there to pick up the pieces.
And none of this could be possible without the newbies to my team. RGIII, what can I say? You’re a special athlete, fun to watch, and having you let me trade away Stafford for a couple starters in Garcon and Jamaal Charles. And speaking of those two, Welcome to the team Pierre and Jamaal! Jamaal, you were huge in the Championship game! MVP for that game, dude, thanks! Pierre, not only did you help out in the run to the championship, but I’m very excited to have you on the team for next year. Griffin to Garcon could be huge.
Lastly, but certainly not least, a huge shout out to my boy Alfred Morris. An $8 waiver preseason pickup who went on to be the 9th rated RB of the year. That kind of value is outstanding! Well done! It’s those kind of moves, those kinds of drafts, that give hope to the grinders and non-contenders in this league that they can turn it around quick.
And the rest of you guys, you’re depth and flexibility makes me think this isn’t going to be a one year wonder. Young talent like Andre Brown (get well soon!), Mikel Leshoure, Brian Hartline and my kickers could have a nice future on this team. Keep up the good work!
Beanie Wells, Phillip Rivers, and Vernon Davis … Gentlemen watch your backs. You all have great potential that was a huge letdown this year. Let’s make next year a bounce back year for you. I’m not afraid to cut your asses, especially if guys like Matt Flynn, Kirk Cousins, or DuJuan Harris get more opportunities.
Great Season gentlemen, and look for a little extra something in your paychecks this week. Have a happy holidays.
Hey, I’ve won the consolation bowl 2 years in a row.
I needed Akers to have a better game than Gore, but that happened. Dez Bryant is finally scoring points, even though it was too late for the regular season run.
The Champ is dead, long live the Champ.
I still have no idea how that happened. Gore is my best RB, but he always manages to screw me with a super low-scoring game at least once a day. Did it really have to be in the Consolation Bowl?
