You mean Ellis? I’ll do it.
Oops yes
On that point, is the draft order in the OP still true? I haven’t been paying that close attention to trades.
RNATB, between Williams and Freeman, which would you have picked? I was debating it for a while.
Beef traded the 2.10 pick to me for Kenny Britt. Other than that, I think everything is still as it was. I also try to keep the Draft Results page on Yahoo pretty current if you want to check on any changes.
In this format I’m much higher on Freeman. Williams could be a bell cow but apparently he has stone hands and can’t pass protect. Plus the Giants always have an RBBC thing going. Freeman seems to be decent at everything and SJax looks near dead.
Yeah, the stone hands thing had me pretty worried, but I don’t really see a RBBC problem in NY. For all the Thunder and Lightning talk Tiki was a horse and Bradshaw was a stud for a stretch there. Plus, if Eli repeats his 2013 both he and Coughlin are probably gone.
While SJax is almost dead, David Wilson is actually (fantasy) dead… Of the two, Williams seems more likely to be a true RB2 option this year.
Varlos sends **WR Michael Floyd **to dalej42, in exchange for QB Cam Newton.
Very happy to have a QB younger than 29 on my roster.
Trade to announce: I trade Cam Newton QB to VarlosZ for Michael Floyd WR
Love Williams. Was desperately hoping he’d fall to 2.1.
Was in the stands to watch him singlehandedly annihilate Maryland last year. I’d not be shocked if he runs for 1200.
As a Giants fan, I sure hope you’re right. The running game has generally been a disaster for years now.
Oh please. There was zero chance Williams would last past my current pick, which I will be posting in around 10-15 minutes.
Just as a side-note, the Cam Newton-Michael Floyd deal pre-empts what was a VERY nearly completed 3-team trade that would have netted me a different young QB. I don’t mind going into more detail, but I don’t know how the other parties feel, so I’ll it leave it to them to start talking about it or not.
But Rashad Jennings could hold the job awhile.
I imagine **Ellis **is in something of a bind: there’s a Giants player on the board he could totally draft without it being a reach (Odell Beckham Jr.), but he already has Victor Cruz (and Eli Manning), and relying so heavily on one passing offense is usually a bad idea. Decisions, decisions…
Maybe, but so could SJax or Jacquizz and Jennings is 29 years old, it’s not exactly like he’s the future.
Just an FYI, Beckham isn’t a consideration for me because of Cruz. I am deciding between two other WRs at the moment, though.
Okay, enough of this paralysis by analysis, time to pull the trigger:
Jordan Matthews (WR-Phi)
That was a much tougher decision than I expected. The other guy I was considering is generally rated higher for 2014, but I’m hoping Matthews will be better longterm.

1.09 Devonta Freeman (RB-Atl) RNATB
1.10 Jordan Matthews (WR-Phi) Ellis
EDIT: Hamlet is on the clock. Sending a PM now.
I think that’s a pretty good fucking pick (though the other guy would’ve been good, too, assuming it’s who I think it is). Great value, certainly.
PM sent to Hamlet?
I did not expect this selection to be this difficult, but the run on backup RB’s and a TE has left me wondering who the hell to draft here? Do I go with the talented and ready to play injury waiting to happen in a high powered offense? Do I take the physical freak who has a clear shot to being the #1 target on his team and is having a great pre-season, but I didn’t like coming out in the draft and could be a huge bust? Do I take the criminal with more red flags than the King of Red Flagdom who is in a great spot to share time now and possibly overtake a guy who I think is overrated?
Fuck it. Time to pull the trigger. I don’t need any more better than average or shared time players, I need a potential stud.

I’m assuming VarlosZ, who just posted, doesn’t need a PM from me.
