Fire sale is still on at Nine Inch Neils. Bargains galore! Come on down! I’m primarily looking to upgrade at QB and RB. Who wants a nice Vincent Jackson for the stretch run? Anquan Boldin? I might even part with DeSean for the right price.
Right, FAAB$ didn’t carry over last year, and won’t this year (because we’d have had to make that clear at the start). However, it’s not a preposterous notion. There are upsides, and (if we remember) it’ll be on the change ballot before next season.
That ridiculous Michael Vick game last week is going to keep me out of the playoffs, I know it.
My team may have flopped after last year’s division win, but at least I get to play spoiler. But a part of me is royally pissed that I got screwed by the schedule as this week marks the third time I’ve put up 120+ and lost. I’d be 7-4 right now (and sitting pretty in first place) if those great weeks didn’t go up against other teams’ greater weeks.
That said, come down to Crazy Justin’s WR Emporium and acquire Donald Driver, Nate Burleson or Mike (SEA) Williams today! Looking for a RB or a younger WR with potential.
Looks like furt is in the unenviable position of not owning a starting QB. I can’t wait to see Brian St Pierre or Rusty Smith in a starting lineup this week! Also, Garrard and Favre are available.
I now declare “Buyers & Sellers” season officially open.
Ellis’ New York Fanboys send:
Tony Romo
Pittsburgh’s DEF
… to Varlos in exchange for:
Santonio Holmes
San Diego’s DEF
Ellis gets a badly needed starting WR for his playoff run (plus a defense with two good matchups in Weeks 15 and 16), I get a (hopefully still) good QB to bolster my corps of Matt Ryan and nobody, plus a DEF in Pittsburgh’s that satisfies my fetish for defenses that *sound *like they should be good, whether or not they actually are.
For ease of use at a later date, here are all the trades that were chronicled in last year’s thread. If you know the details of a trade that isn’t listed here, please help out.
~10/26/09
furt’s Fightin Quakers give up:
WR Miles Austin
QB Josh Freeman
DEF Buffalo
RetroVertigo gives up:
WR Nate Davis
QB Kurt Warner
DEF San Francisco
2) ~10/29/09
RNATB’s 9 Inch Neils gives up:
WR Brandon Marshall
TE Chris Cooley
Hamlet’s CuteWiddleBunny gives up:
WR Josh Morgan
TE Owen Daniels
3) 11/10/09
Justin Bailey’s** Gusterrhoids** send:
TE Jason Witten
Fightin’ Quakers (furt) sends:
WR Michael Crabtree
RB Jonathan Stewart
5) ~12/01/09
Justin Bailey’s **Gusterrhoids **send:
QB Brett Favre
Stringer’s **We Do HGH **sends:
RB Laurence Maroney
Some notes:
– I’m pretty sure we had more than 5 trades last year, but AFAICT there are the only ones alluded to in the league thread. Again, I’d appreciate if any fully or partially recollected trades were mentioned here. Scan your rosters when you get a chance.
– **furt **had his first Jonathan Stewart trade vetoed (Stewart, Devery Henderson, and Seattle’s DEF to **dalej42 **in exchange for Arizona’s DEF).
– If I’m reading the thread right, for #5, Justin Bailey could have had Jammal Charles instead of Laurence Maroney in exchange for Favre. Oops.
During the offseason, RNATB traded me Jason Witten for Reggie Bush.
 Mother fucker!
In my defense, Charles had only 2 TDs and was averaging 37 yards a game at the time of the trade. Maroney’s average wasn’t much better, but he had put up 8 TDs at the time.
And basically stopped producing the second I acquired him… MOTHER FUCKER!
I’ve pretty much written off this season w/r/t the playoffs. So then it comes down to next-season value. Kolb will be starting somewhere next year, and likely so will Henne. The latter is almost as good as Cassel, and the former is better.
Based on the contracts the Eagles would be foolish to move Kolb and with Vick’s injury issues that’s doubly true. Henne just got benched and there’s probably gonna be a new OC in Miami and the chances of Thigpen and a rookie to be drafted stealing the job aren’t negligible.
You are aware that Cassel is the 13th ranked QB in the league…
It seemed like a fair trade at the time. Let’s face it, Freeman may be playing very well from a football standpoint but he’s no more than a bye-week fill in from a fantasy perspective, at least for now.
If the Vikings come calling with a first and a third they’ll move Kolb faster than you can say* injured reserve*.
