I don’t want the #1 seed if I have to play Isotopes in the first round, ugh.
It seems likely that no matter who wins next week between SenorBeef and I, we’ll play again the following week. Just like I hate in the real NFL when teams in the same division play in the first round. I liked the old days, when teams in the same division couldn’t play each other until the conference championship.
But really, I don’t care about seeding. If you think you’re a great team, you take on whomever.
My earlier trade of Anquan Boldin for Benjarvus Green-Ellis and Fred Taylor has proven to be a decent trade. I’ve gotten a couple of great games from the law firm, while Boldin has regressed this year.
I may have been wrong saying how bad the trade was, but I’m still not sure I trust NE to use the same back from year to year.
There are still several ways for this to shake out. You only lead Stringer by 12 points, so if he wins and outscores you by 12, he’d get the #1 seed. If he has the #1 seed and I win, I’d get #2. If you won, you’d get the #2. If he wins but doesn’t outscore you, and I won, I’d get #1 and he’d get #2 and you’d get #4. If he wins but doesn’t outscore you and you win, you get #1, him #2, and me #4. So… likely we face each other, but there are still different ways for this to shake out.

I’ve also got a provisional list of the best/worst/most notable of the adds/drops/waiver claims. I’m probably missing a few. For instance, when it comes to no cost free agent pickups, can anyone top Danny Woodhead? I thought there were one or two other good FAs in the running, but on my first pass I didn’t see anything better than Jacob Tamme.
If we go back to last year I picked up Vick off the FA list and held onto him until I knew he’d become a starter so I could trade him away.
Indeed, good foresight on that one
Well I locked up a playoff slot. Doing that with only 2 good players on my roster is pretty good, eh? I only have like 7 guys from my original draft still on my team. My best WR is the #26 scorer, and only McCoy is in the top 30 of RBs.
I have had the lowest points scored against me in the league, so I’m lucky in that regard - but it’s not as if I’m getting by just based on that. I’ve scored the 4th most points in the league, which means I deserve where I am.
So I dunno. I’ve done a good job at picking matchups for the most part, but I’m amazed I’ve managed to stay afloat despite only having 1 RB/WR in the top 25 at their positions. That fact alone should make me a bottom 3 team you’d think.
You’re the 5th highest scorer. I’m the 4th.
You’be also got the lowest Pts Against by a HUGE margin. Basically, every lucky bounce that rolled away from me this year, rolled towards you.
You have scored a lot of points so it’s not crazy lucky, but your opponents scored 100+ only 4 times this year. My opponents failed to score 100+ only once (96.6).
Man, everyone thought dale was getting hosed on that Boldin for Law Firm trade, but in fact they had it backwards.
Sorry, I’ve managed to be lazy and get 2 weeks behind.

Varlos is commish so it’s up to him how he wants to handle this, but Ellis Dee and I, in the other leagues, are letting people declare conditional starts relating to Vikes/Giant players because we don’t know how the hell yahoo will handle it if that game is cancelled. So try to declare changes you’d make if you knew that game was cancelled now, and hopefully we can figure it out later. So if you’d start someone from your bench instead of a Giants player, declare that. If you would’ve picked up a free agent to replace one (unlikely in this league), declare that.
OK, here goes. If the game is canceled…
I’d play the Saints defense from my bench instead of the NYG defense.
I’d move Mike Goodson to the RB slot (in place of Brandon Jacobs) and play Deion Branch in the WR/RB slot.
If (and only if) the Giants @ Vikings game is cancelled (or commuted to a forfeit) I would like to make the following lineup changes:
-
Mark Sanchez starts in place of Eli Manning
-
Michael Spurlock starts in place of Mario Manningham
I already switched out Lawrence Tynes for Garrett Hartley, so no issue there.
I’d move Devin Hester to the W/T spot instead of Shiancoe and Beanie Wells to the W/R spot instead of Sidney Rice.
I just went ahead and benched my Giants and Vikes. The conditional start thing doesn’t seem fair somehow.
Eh, it’s not like it’s a conditional “hey, start whoever does better!” - it covers something that we have no idea how it will shake out right now, and IMO if someone loses a playoff game because they were starting Peterson or something and he gets a 0 that just doesn’t seem fair. Too many unknowns.
