SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Two

I guess it would, but there’s no built-in way to do that in Yahoo is there?

No, but we could just add up the scores from the rosters and make a bracket.

They won’t be able to add or drop anyone.

The rosters don’t lock down for non-playoff teams do they?

Pretty sure they do - no more games = no reason to make roster moves.

I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think we locked rosters last year. Typically that would be the right move, of course, but in the dynasty league, where your potential keepers are determined by your roster at the end of the year, there actually is a reason for teams that are out of it to do add/drop. Further, since we have 25 man rosters, they have *almost *as much reason to do it as playoff teams, since it’s unlikely that anyone added at this point will actually be on anyone’s starting roster this year.

So Rodgers went down. Sucks. Good thing I have a top 7 QB as my backup! … except he’s scored like 2 points in the last 2 games and now Denver fans are clamoring for Tebow. And Denver may just say what the hell and give it a try. Leaving me in the middle of the playoffs… with no quarterback.

I’ve been relying on Orton in my money league, and my backup is David Garrard. :frowning: Not that Garrard isn’t having a good season, but he needs scores to score because he never racks up the yardage.

At least you can field a QB!

If it makes you feel any better, Eddie Royal has been having a terrible year. Of course, that’s probably Orton’s fault.

We basically both got nothing out of the trade for the short term.

Stringer was able to keep the score lead over Isotopes, and Furt didn’t manage to pull out a win to snatch away his division.

Which gives us:

(1) We Do HGH (Stringer) vs (4) Exploding Pancakes (SenorBeef)

(2) Isotopes (Petey) vs (3) New York Fanboys (Ellis Dee)

I WILL POINT OUT, VARLOS!!! that had I won the Anthony Gonzalez 2 hour bowl I’d have won my division, making me the 2 seed, giving me a winnable matchup against Ellis Dee, which could’ve got me to the championship game instead of getting face stomped by the Stringer machine!

Oh well, after finishing last place last year, with no help whatsoever from my draft picks, it’s pretty awesome that I made the playoffs at all. And should allay some parity concerns.

And I went from first to… well, not quite worst.

I think all worries about parity should be dead. The only playoff team to repeat was We Do HGH (Stringer). The three newbies in this year’s playoffs finished #8 (Isotopes), #11 (New York Fanboys) and #12 (Exploding Pancakes) last year.

I guess since my team was the only one who remained stagnant (from last year), I’ve really got to evaluate where my team is headed.

Perhaps a coaching change is in order.

Maybe the whole front office.

Better move the team to LA for good measure.

As a guy who wouldn’t be effected either way, I think we should adopt the keeper league draft order format for this coming season. The consolation bowl participants get the first four spots in order, meaning the winner gets the #1 overall pick. The remaining 8 spots go in reverse finish order, so the overall winner picks last and whoever finished in dead last picks 5th. (After the four consolation bowl picks.)

I’d offer that the playoff teams aren’t effected either way; we’re picking the last four picks regardless. If we can get a concensus between the four of us, would that be sufficient?

I don’t see the benefit of that system over running a consolation bowl with the last 4 picks. Why is it in the interest of the league for the top draft picks to go to the middle of the league instead of the bottom?

I am the league, and I want a running back.

No?
