SDMB Footie Focus: April

The penultimate month of the season, and things are looking moderately interesting. Except for Liverpool fans, of course.
[ul][li]Tinker, Eidur, Parker, Gronkjaer, rich man, Roman, John Inman, Jimmyfloydhasselbaink - Can they do it? Monaco and then, say, Milan is eminently do-able. And if, just if they caught Arsenal and won the Prem as well, surely Kenyon would have to go instead of our favourite pidgin-Englishman?[/li][li]Another prick in the Wall - Dennis Wise is human rubbish. Never have I wanted neither team to win the Cup this much. [/li][li]The Drop Zone - I can see Leeds nudging Leicester, but can they catch Blackburn? Surely, the Greatest Escape ever.[/li][li]Straight Dope Fantasy League: I hereby award the cup for manager of the month to…[/li]
sc913whatever!

I have absolutely no idea who’s winning overall, but a good last 2 months might bring you the title so get Tinkering.[/ul]

tomorrow night is going to be a good one. Villareal aren’t to be underestimated.
Celtic all but won the league, and a great fight back against Hearts really shows the determination of this team.

Sack Sven Goran Ericsson. Chelsea must keep Ranieri. He’s had a great second half of the season, but they really need to sort out their forward line. Has Crespo and Mutu really done better this season than Jimmy Floyd and Gronkjar?

Silly season is almost upon us.

Chelski did great last night, but I think Milan’s name is on the cup.

After all the expensive shopping, Jimmy and Eidur are still the best pairing for Chelsea.
Maybe Crespo will do better next year - sometimes it takes people a year to get into the swing of things.

devastated by last nights result.

Lets see if we can throw the league too - now that will be a treble we can be proud of…

Hey, Garius, I know how it feels.

I can’t see it really, but the season does appear to be falling apart…

What interests me is that Real Madrid got knocked out - which they are not going to settle for. That means they will be looking for players in the summer and Henry must be target #1.

Will AFC be able to resisit them (and possibly for Wenger as well?)

Meh. i’m not sure its that bad. At the end of the day, two loses is only such a huge issue because we haven’t exactly lost a lot this season.

Would have been nicer if those two loses hadn’t been in the Champions League Quarter final and the FA Cup Semi, but hey-ho.

Henry won’t be off though - think there’s a bit of doom-wishing on your behalf there mate.

Frankly it would be nice to have the same “collapse” as arsenal.

However I think that Real are surely going to be big, predatory, players in the transfer market. They have made no secret of their admiration of Henry and wenger, and money appears to be no object for them.

They may just make you an offer you can’t refuse.

Although a bloody great cheque would certainly cushion the blow.

And thanks Sky for making our away game on Good Friday kick off at 8pm in LIVERPOOL. Bastards. How are people suppose to get to that?

It’s a B&B weekender in Blackpool, Owl - not that I’m going but that’s the plan for my drinking team. Back for the game on Monday . . .

Can’t see the Gooners getting very much or, perhaps, anything at Newcastle on Sunday, especially as Henry has this hamstring. This is now very interesting indeed.

Damn, they’ve left their annual blow up late this season . . . could be just in time, though!

BTW, my magagerial predictions

Real to sack Queroz, replaced by Hitzfeld. Queroz to go back to be Red-nose’s second in command.
Houlier to get the 4th place n the league, and keep his job for another season.
Murihno to get the Tottenham job.
O’Neill to go nowhere for another season.

Fingers crossed.

Real really need to be buying defenders. It’s not like they’ve been short of scoring this season.

I’d like to think you’re right about Marinho, Twisty - in fact, I’m desperate for you to be right.

Brace yourselves for the worst of the worst. Via e-mail

Wenger had to go to the dealer and get his car stereo repaired this morning, he kept complaining that the treble had gone!

You have to be (a) a Spurs fan and (b) truly desperate to think that amusing. I loved it !

made me giggle

in a manly way, mind. not like a school girl or summit.

The reason that Arsenal are popular with women?

They stay on top for ages, then come second.

smashes bottle against bar

sorry mate. but thats just going too fucking far…

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

PLEASE Deportivo, please, knock that shower of cheats on the head, I really cannot bear seeing them celebrate another victory.

signed, Not Over It Yet CSC

Wow! Depor knocking out AC Milan after being down 4-1 and Monaco knocking out Real Madrid after ebing down 5-2 at one point on aggregate is way too unbelievable. One of those heppening is pretty damn unlikely, both…pretty damn unlikely^2.

Oh the Arsenal how I adore thee.

The worst thing about losing in Champion’s League is that it was against a local rival that we have beaten so many times before but not when it really counts the most.

Funny how all the favorites are out (Arsenal, Juve, Manure, Milan, Real). Deportivo (same team that got trashed by Monaco at the beginning of CL) finished off Juve and trashed Milan, now that’s a great come back.

Bloody Tottenham - bloody useless bastards.

PLEAT OUT!

An expat wishes to know… has Wayne Rooney done anything since that goal against Arsenal last season?
