Well, yeah, the reason they’re still there is probably just because it was too much work to take them down, but broadcast television does still exist in the US. They switched to digital broadcasts years ago, but one of those antennas should still pick up the digital signal, and with the trend of “cord cutting” some people have actually put them back into service.
Oh! TIL
After a lot of failing to take a decent photo for this months comp, and with the deadline looming, I gave up and went back to archive. Sorry.
The photo is from May of this year and shows a couple of our fox cubs investigating a structure which has just appeared in their back yard. It appeals to me (in the context of this comp) as it isn’t clear whose home we’re talking about - I think it’s mine but they clearly think it’s theirs.
The den is just behind the garden shed. Here’s a photo of all three cubs heading home after playtime.

Oh my gosh, they are adorable!
I’m going to keep trying to take new pictures, but also allow myself to use the archives. Some good stuff in there!
Sometimes, for whatever reason, the subject matter just doesn’t work for me. Gotta be at the right place at the right time, I guess. But yes -
Me too. But this month it just didn’t work out.

Once again, I posted a picture for “home”, then later took a picture even more appropriate. This little building was home to a raccoon, that broke in through the roof and trashed the place. I relocated the coon then we hired a carpenter to rebuild the dock, put a metal roof on, etc.
I haven’t posted yet, because I’m agonising over two different pics.
Hi everyone, just a reminder that submissions close tonight at 9pm UK time. I’ll be on the road at that time, so I’ll post the official closing message a bit later than normal.
Sorry, a bit later than planned the poll is now… open!
I’ve had to build the poll by hand rather than using the automated script I usually use, so apologies for any misspelling of usernames. I don’t think I’ve missed anyone out (I’ve quadruple-checked) but please let me know if I have!
Photo from my deck a couple of winters ago.
The mountain in the background is Mt Lincoln 14,293 feet.
@enipla wow, what a shot, and what a view!
The view from my own front window is rather different, as shown in my entry this month.
While I’m here, just a reminder that voting closes tomorrow at 9pm UK time.
Thanks. This is our dog Cricket behind our house. It’s an amazing place. Surrounded by Colorado 14 thousand foot peaks. Shit still trying to figure out images. If you click on it you will see the entire shot.
Thanks, I keep screwing it up.
enipla, maybe this will help. (awesome dog-o, BTW)
(I always post from my laptop, something may be different if you’re doing it from your phone)

Go grab yourself a snack.
- Give a snack to that pwecious doggie!
Thanks MMM. It sometimes works for me, and sometimes does not. It’s clearly a PEBKAC error (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair)
And @Karen_Lingel - The doggies get special doggie ice cream. Bacon peanut butter. Well, that keeps me out of it for sure
And that’s voting closed. Congratulations to @aurora_maire!
Great work everyone. It was really interesting to see how the theme was interpreted.
@aurora_maire - please pm me with your choice of theme for September.
Thanks everyone. That was a very serendipitous photo. I was reading one day and looked up at the windows and the light was just perfect.
