SDMB Monthly Photo Competition - rolling discussion thread

Quick reminder that submissions close at 9pm UK time on Wednesday.

I already submitted my entry, but maybe I should have held off…
I took this today:

Yowzers @beowulff - that’s a great shot.

That is beautiful. Where was it taken?

mmm

It’s funny, I’m surrounded by gorgeous trees but haven’t taken a good photo lately. I eventually went to the archives just so I could participate, but there are so many great submissions (again) this month.

I must upload my entry tonight.

Hey, @TwoCarrotSnowman, don’t forget to upload your entry tonight!

It’d be a pity if you were leafed-out. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, make ya feel like a sap!

At Oxbow park on the Animas river in Durango.

Beautiful! I’ve seen a few amazing potential pictures just running around the past week.

Huh - spent a week in Crete, gazing at those gorgeous mediterranean pines against the backdrop of a perfect blue sea and sky. A gimme, right? Just couldn’t capture it and ended up using a snap of partied-up palm trees.

FWIW, this is the best I could do. As ever, google demands that you click for the full image.

Google Photos

Yikes, that is almost the full image - how’d that happen? Agia Irini monastery. So, anyway, this is what I was trying to do.

Beautiful!
I know I had some amazing shots in my archives, but with my new phone I don’t know how to get to them without just scrolling for eternity. Bother.

Thanks! But, y’know, I really haven’t managed to capture it. Very frustrating.

Better than I can do. You all humble me.

Snuck in with nearly a whole day to spare.

I like the look of the trees in this picture. It was cold and there was a light layer of ice on everything. Unfortunately, my gf and Mack got in the way.

The Headless Girlfriend? :astonished:

Yep, and Mack is 35 in this picture. I think it is the last photograph of him. I rode him that winter. Imagine riding on the back of your 100 year old grandparent. He remained sure footed to the end.

@chela your picture showed up fine!

I can’t see it. If I click in the seemingly blank post, a new tab opens but it never loads.
