Flight - (manned/man-made aviation related); let’s leave birds for a different month.
For human flight, I’m certain I can’t come up with a new photo this month, but if archived is acceptable I might have something.
Same here. The annual air show was last month (and I didn’t go this year anyway), but I have some photos from previous years that I could use. Or I guess I could go hang out by the airport and photograph commercial jets, but I doubt I’ll have a chance to do that this month.
I see various discussion of potential rule changes, but it is difficult to sort out what is or is not a definite official statement on such.
To be clear, what rule changes have been established recently?
Are we allowed to use photos from our archive, or must we take fresh photos?
Are we allowed to include a backstory or explanation, such as how my last entry constitutes a “bridge”?
You may use an archive photo unless the theme of the month expressly forbids it.
In the monthly photo poll thread, you may post one photo and, if you’d like, a title. Any other text belongs in the rolling discussion thread (exception: one the poll has closed, you may comment in the monthly photo poll thread to your heart’s content).

Those terraces are cool where is that, Italy?
Yes, I was going to title the picture “Elicottero”, Italian for helicopter, but that sounded too snooty! 
Especially since I don’t speak Italian. That was near Riomaggiore, where we got off the train and hiked up into the olive groves.

For my August submission, I was spoiled for choice; I had hundreds in my archive.
The one I chose (post #3 in the thread) was not the most exciting or dynamic or artistically-cool photo from that day, and perhaps technically not all that great (it wasn’t hazy; it was a blue sky day but they were in front of a cloud at that moment). But seeing those two together speaks to me. So there.
It’s a cool combination, P-51 and F-16.
It was really hard to decide between the photo I used, and this one, of the same F-22 in a hard bank.
