While this one is a nice shot and bank angle, I think you chose the correct one. Those Mach diamonds are cool.

Wow - how’d you get that shot?
From an airshow at Space Coast Executive (KTIX) in 2016. From the ground, even though it certainly doesn’t look it; 300mm lens on a full-frame Canon 6D. Until COVID, there was an annual “warbird” airshow there, sponsored by the Valiant Air Command with a museum there.

That’s no surprise. They’re sandbagging every month - waiting until most of the entries are posted, then dropping an awesome photo that blows-up the competition!
All three that I voted for, as soon as they were posted, I said, “Damn! That’s the winner!”

If I was more clever I’d have submitted something like this.
I (“he”, btw) haven’t entered since February, when I submitted on the 18th. This time, it was the 22nd, so hardly “every month”. I admit the first couple of months I did purposely wait until near the end. But since then it hasn’t been gamesmanship if I’ve entered late in the month; just laziness or forgetting to find a picture.

I purposely said manned flight for last month, thinking we could do animal flight (mostly birds but flying squirrels, fish, etc) another month. I did DM @Turek to see if that’s acceptable for Sept or if there’s another topic; waiting to hear back.
Not at all. I have so many photos to choose just one takes some time. I literally have over 600,000 in just my ballooning folder; granted some are .jpg & .nef (raw) duplicates, & some are a series of GoPro jpgs from a timelapse, but still that’s a imperial shit ton (technical term) to think about, & that doesn’t include any airplane, helicopter, or rocket shots.
Heard back from @Turek; let’s go with Flight - (non-human) for this month.
