The way I think I understood it now with Cervaise’s help:
Now (6) you click on the thumbnail. The page goes to a bigger picture. There you right-click (7) and “open Link in a new Tab”. Go to that tab and select the URL (8). Copy and paste that URL in the SDMB, but with a blank line (carriage returns, as Cervaise put it in post #1716) before and after.
Between (6) and (7) it offers me the option the upload the image in full resolution. I forgot whether I did that or not, but it probably is a good idea.
Open the URL so you’re looking at a page with your image on it.
Right-click or long-press that image.

It might be a good idea to write a single post with a guide to using imgbb here, and then link to it in the new photo posting thread with a caution against using imgur for anyone who sees that thread but not this one.

Edit to add: per prior note, try a carriage return before and after.
Do you have to create an account with imgBB or can you just upload an individual photo for one-time use?
Never mind. It turns out that I had an old account at Shutterfly and that will work for me as long as it can be seen outside the U.S.

The few I’ve posted I did without creating an account.
I’m not sure for how long, or how many, you can post and still get away with that.

I re-uploaded mine, but now it’s taking a very long time to load. It took several minutes for my whole picture to show. Cervaise’s picture also took a long time. Is anyone else having this problem?
Still having trouble with imgbb, so I searched for picture hosting sites and landed with postimages. I hope it shows OK. The others load fine in my computer.
@chela Your photo is excellent, but all we have in the thread is a link. I’d be happy to host it at Bluesky and post it here for you. Or I could try giving you the link in a message and we can see if you can use it.
