SDMB Movie Club - week 9 - Schindler's List

(Obligatory links to On The Waterfront last week and week 1 for newcomers.)

I postponed this thread one week, as I also postponed hosting the movie at my apartment after the tragedy last week. I admit I’d much rather skip ahead to week 10 and watch a far happier movie - Singin’ in the Rain - but I think it may be beneficial for us to watch this, and recall that even in the face of horror, there can be some good and beautiful things.

A little over a week ago, Daowajan started his thread Schindler’s List which seems to have died down. A lot of people offered some good insight into the movie, and I’ll probably put my comments in there as well. I just wanted this thread to exist for posterity’s sake.

And, after all, we’ve got movie sign.

FWIW…

If I had a working VCR I’d be watching this stuff with you, but I don’t. Wish I lived closer to you and could make it to your showings…

Schindler’s List, though…this was the first movie I saw where I sat through the credits. All of them. Til the movie stopped.

I’ve seen it since on TV, but it just doesn’t have the same effect as seeing it, all around you, on the big screen.
