SDMB Picture Thread

Way late… but here I am with my Eldest daughter, a couple of years ago in Paris.

I have got to say, I’ve been fanning myself vigorously (and working hard to keep from drooling) at some of the female pictures in here!

Welcome. My name is Chris and I’ll be your guide through these horrible photos.

First of all, I’ve been told I look young. As in, very young. Much younger than my age. I was once carded for an R rated movie at age 21, just to give you an example.

But that being said, I don’t see it. I think I look about right for my age, although the compliments are flattering.

So onto the photos.

Here is a photo of me in a photobooth.

Don’t ask me what I was looking at in this one. I don’t remember.

In this one I’m sniffing the candle, not eating or biting it as some have thought. : p It was scented.

But don’t count me out as a weirdo just yet. As this photos shows, I’m prone to taking dares and acting silly. A dare from my girlfriend at the time created that circumstance.

Here’s a photo of a full length me.

Again, people say I look young, so often I won’t shave for awhile and hopefully look older (or at least my age). This is what you get when I do shave; right after, actually. The whole baby face look. I’m not too enthusiastic about it. I’m 27…and believe it or not, I sometimes really wish I looked it. Maybe I do some, but most tell me I look like I’m 18-20 in real life.

And here’s another one taken currently after a shave.
So one day, a few weeks ago, I got tired of it. I decided to keep my facial hair and shave it into a goatee. Here are the results.

Ta-Da?

Well, at least I look older?

Thing is…I like a goatee on me even less then being told how young I look. So the goatee project of 2007 didn’t last long. I’m now clean shaven again…
…and always remember to carry my ID on me when going to the movies.

And I swoon.

Here’s me and Whatsit Jr. at the science center a couple of months ago.

(In the interests of vanity I feel the need to point out that Whatsit the Youngest was born about three weeks before this picture was taken and I was still looking a little “postpartum-y”. Ahem.)

Shut UP. You are totally cute. Lose the goatee and you are thoroughly swoon~y!

Wow, Idle…that’s gotta be the closest matchup I’ve had between how I picture someone looking and how they actually look (pre-goatee, that is).

Me before I lost weight and hair.

(My hair’s thinner now. The pic is several years old)

Here’s me with one of my best friends in the whole world:

Ane here is me (with eyes half closed for some reason) with my tortoise:

Me with baby Ella, about thirty minutes old:

And Ella again, now about three months:

(I’m only posting so I can put up pics of my baby.)

She is adorable, man.

Thanks.

Oooooooh CUTE baby !!

Look ! She has your nostrils !

You are not ugly, sheesh! Where on God’s green earth did you ever get that idea?

You’re very attractive; accept it!

Yeah, I don’t like it either. Or rather, I just don’t see why all the people close to me think I look good with it. My mom does, my roomate does…and most of all my fiancee does. So whenever I know I’m going to see her I make sure to grow it out.

Hal, is that a good thing or a bad thing? :stuck_out_tongue: I have yet to click yours to see what you look like because I don’t want to ruin the image of you I already have in my head (which is pretty good). I dunno…I’m just afraid you’ll have horns and a hunchback and a booger hanging from your nose and be crosseyed and buckteeth and I’ll have to forever, henceforth, think of you as “that one weird looking guy”.
Really cute baby. Really good photos, everyone (save for Hal, who I have not seen yet. You don’t happen to have, like, a huge inflatible something with you, do you? shudders).

Guess I’ll go look now.

Wow. I thought you’d look a bit younger, although you do look a bit like I pictured you.

I guess it was just the whole “married, having your first kid” kinda thing. My impression was a guy who was maybe in his late twenties or early thirties. Not that you look like an old fart or anything. Just, you look older than I thought you would.

Not a bad thing. You look like a science teacher.

Sarcasm, what a concept… :stuck_out_tongue:

Nine pages, and I’ve just discovered this thread! You’d think I’d have found a vanity thread right away.

This is me from last fall.

Here I’m a bridesmaid, also from last fall.

With my friend Shannon.

And in the interest of full disclosure, I reluctantly share this photo of me with my nephew from long ago, during my college years. When you click it you will see, the fact I’m transgendered is not the only reason for my reluctance.

Nice pics, Fiver.

One of my friends made the transition a few years ago, and recently I dug up a ‘pre’ pic from 2000 when we were in Finland. I’d forgotten just how much change it involves. We humans are far more mutable than most people realise.

Hey, you’re the chick who’s LJ ID is your pic,** terracinque** right? I recognize you.

Vanity whore…

We’re not naked mole rats, but we can transform ourselves pretty thoroughly when we set our minds to it, yes.

Thanks for the praise.

Maybe. I admit nothing! Who are you?
