It’s a minor niggle, but I noticed two threads of this sort today, and it just seems a bit unnecessary. So, of course, I leapt at the chance to make yet another unnecessary thread about this.
This doesn’t peg my annoyance-meter more than about a 0.0001, in the grand scheme of things, but I’m curious what other people think.

Of course it’s even worse in GQ, tech help or similar factual forums. When I’m trying to find some existing data on a particular problem, or when I want to know if anyone else has encountered a similar problem before making a new post about it, a thousand topics entitled “Help me !!” or “That’s weird” aren’t fucking helping, are they ?! AAAAAAH ! thumps wall
In more informal or recreational forums, it aggravates me a lot less, although it does make searching for a particular thread annoying sometimes.

It also bothers me when people get cutesy with the titles in a lame attempt to hook you into their threads, as if they were still in elementary school. Worse yet if you mouse over and they still don’t get to the meat of their thread.

Agreed. A gentle poke with the Mod Prod® would be my solution to (especially GQ) titles which don’t inform.
