Mosier, Yeah I completely finished my character last night. But I like the guy you have in mind.
Done!
You’re confusing Mosier with Mahaloth.
Yes, Yes I am.
Cyrus Faramond is the nephew of the late Lord Hammerfall, Godrick Faramond. As a younger man, Cyrus’ responsibilities included ensuring discipline and cooperation among the peasantry of Hammerfall, a task he accepted with vigor and excelled at. He does not hate or despise the peasantry; indeed he recognizes the necessity of their role in the social fabric. Like trusted pets, peasants can be loyal and trustworthy useful companions, but must also be occasionally reminded that they are not friends or family.
Cyrus’ frustration built as he watched the Faramond estate decline. The conflicts in the east took a great toll on the people and economy of the Broken Jaw foothills. As one of the more militarily competent Faramonds, Cyrus frequently led small bands of peasant militia, and sometimes even noble warriors to battle. He does not command the respect and authority of the greatest military leaders, but what he lacks in charm and inspiration, he makes up for with utter fearlessness. He is willing commit fully, almost recklessly, to battle. His wrath is frequently terrifying to his enemies, and unsettling to his allies.
Cyrus is driven by a single goal - to reclaim the glory of Faramond. He has many scores to settle, and he’s willing to take what he wants by force, even from other nobles. After all, did the Faramonds not disproportionately bear the burden of conflict and war in the East? Many other nobles question his character, but few are willing to openly mock or challenge him. Cyrus has never turned down a challenge or declined a duel in his life, and has the scars to prove it.
So far we have lunaticlucas, Mahaloth and Mosier with completed characters (stats and all).
I’m assuming one of the Faramonds - maybe one of the PCs - saved his life on campaign somewhere, and honour obliges him to stick around until he’s returned the favour. The trouble is, his worldly smarts keep heading off trouble before it starts, so the life-threatening crises keep being averted before they become opportunities to pay off the debt.
Jaded? Rather more so than the Chinese Emperor’s throneroom.
Could you help me out with the stats please? After a few days sick, I need to get some hard maths done and I can’t spend too much time on this.
Pft, a peasant with honor. Now I’ve heard everything!
Sorry, have had a hectic few days, and being banned from the board put me into a catatonic state on top of that. I will get to this tomorrow post haste.
Please clear your inbox so that I can send you the general primer.
My inbox is full of precious, momentously important e-mails that crystallize the very essence of this board! It shall be wiped immediately.
I have a 99% completed character ready to go. I’ll post a write-up about the character later, for those who are interested.
We’ve got a pretty badass party shaping up here, guys.
Henry Farmond was the youngest in the Faramond family and never cared much about the trappings of royalty seeing as how he had no chance of inheriting the title anyway. Instead, he neglected his studies and spent more time carousing. While he usually hung out with other ne’er-do-well nobles, the lower classes served their purposes, if nothing more than subjects to enthrall with his good looks and silver tongue. (Particularly the women. And interpret that tongue remark however you wish.) For the most part he neglected the higher learning common to nobles, however, there were certain studies he couldn’t avoid given his station, so in a pinch he can be a capable fighter and understands much of the subtleties of playing the political game, even if he finds politics itself a rather pointless drudgery. His time spent among his fellow carousers, particularly the seafaring Arcadians, has also taught him some skills that would typically be frowned upon by those who believe in noblesse oblige. While he’s not really the type to shake with one hand and stab your back with the other, odds are decent that other hand would relieve you of some of your more “burdensome” possessions.
Mosier and lunaticlucas have fully completed characters with Mahaloth and Hoopy Frood at the very cusp of completion.
Who is Sohanux Urthadar?
Well, no one knows for sure. Sure, there has been tons of speculation, but no one seems to have much factual information about her. Obviously, Lord Faramond did. After all, he hired her all those years ago. But what did he hire her for? Was she his concubine? She is definitely beautiful enough to be one(gorgeous would not be an exaggeration), but her relationship with him was unclear. She did spend quite a bit of time with him in the later stages of his illness, but no one knows why that was or what she did. When questioned, she did show knowledge of healing and medicine. Perhaps she was just his medic? Actually, it was her knowledge of healing that prompted the nobles to bring her on this journey. They may need healing and she agreed to go.
She is quite young, but at the same time her eyes look far older than her age. She is very passionate in conversation, especially in any debate. Her wisdom is renowned with those who worked close to Faramond. Perhaps it’s the look in her striking eyes that makes her seem so wise. Could Faramond have hired her simply to discuss things with her? It’s possible.
Then again, who really knows who Sohanux Urthadar really is?
I’m aiming to start the game thread sometime Saturday. I’ll delay as necessary if characters aren’t all in but that’s what I’m shooting for.

It seems real life might be getting in the way for Malacandra and Autolycus, unfortunately. If I haven’t heard something by the end of the day I’ll start contacting people on the replacement list.
Baldur Faramond started his life as a normal child, nay perhaps even a bit more so. As the middle child, he was happy and carefree, yet diligent in his duties. He idealized his older brother and loved competing with him in everything. Only one year apart, they were inseparable. While his older brother had a more natural affinity for combat, Baldur always felt more at home in the wilderness surrounding the estate. He seemed to have a knack for knowing his way around the woods, and he could name all the species of wildlife around the estate in a flash.
While his parents wished he would take a more active interest in government, they didn’t put up too much of a fuss. That is, until his brother died. Baldur took the disappearance of his brother hard. He told his brother he would join him hunting that day, and he partially blames himself for his brother’s so-called death. After that, he became sullen and withdrawn. While he half-heartedly took his brother’s place as the next-eldest-son and partook in the usual medley of combat lessons, politics, and government, he really only felt at home in the woods. He adopted a pet squirrel and began taking it everywhere he went.
If his brother’s death hit him hard, then his father’s death sent him over the edge. While his father had his faults, their relationship was basically loving. Asked to take leadership and direction for the Faramond clan, Baldur locked himself in his room. Strange muttering could be heard coming out of it, along with strange scritching and gnawing. When the door was eventually pryed open, he was seen talking to his pet squirrel as if it was older brother. Assumed to be a loon, he was immediately passed over for leadership. Out of respect for his lineage, he is now taken along as a benign presence. The woods still manage to occasionally bring him a smile.
The poor Faramonds can’t catch a break.
