I hate to do this but I’d be most grateful if somebody could renew my Charter Member sub this year (it expires in a couple of weeks). No card or wherewithal at present. (Damn that wherewithal, where is it when you need it?)

Unless/until we can get something going on in the way of a gift subscription device/hack/kludge, you’ll have to let someone sign in to your account to get that going on, I’m afraid. Giving you a heads up here. I have no idea when/if anything will happen.

Charter Members have until May 20 to renew their subscriptions, so hang on, I’m sure help is on the way.

Geez, I was ticked enough when my Charter member status was yanked due to what I think was a spam filter issue, now this. I tried to re-up using PayPal, and it says my card is expired. Well, it was, but I have a new card now, and PP won’t let me enter the new card number.

When I didn’t have the money, a great Samaritan came to my rescue (Thanks Karl Gauss!) Now that I have the cheddar, it’s a pain getting it on the barrel-head.

I was going to re-subscribe too, but the “old familiar way” of simply entering a credit card number isn’t there anymore (or I just didn’t see it). I don’t have/use Paypal.
You should be able to use your credit card.
Hit the PayPal button and that will take you to a page with two options on it:
Sign in to your PayPal account. (large and prominently on the right)
A block of type on the left (not so prominent) that says:
**Don’t have a PayPal account? **
Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Continue
To use your credit card click on the “Continue” hyperlink. Follow the prompts.
That should do it.
