Tuesday would normally be our game, and you guys are welcome to try to get one started, but all the cool people are playing BF3 on release day, so I won’t be there to organize it.
The new halloween event came out yesterday, based around viaduct. Not sure what new stuff there is, but we can give it a try tonight. I can peel myself away from bf3 to get the game rolling tonight.
Finally back in the States. I’m still trying to get my friends to play death tag with me, they’re not convinced that a game with no-clip and friendly fire suppression is a good game.
Since coming back with the new server after the break, the interest hasn’t been all that high. Or… at least a lot of regulars just aren’t around much anymore. I wonder if we’re played out. Which would be understandable - we played several times a week for 9 months which is more than I expected.
So anyway, I’ve spent the last of the donated funds on this month’s server operation. So we’ll try this: If there’s enough interest to keep it going, feel free to donate to the server (it runs $20/mo). $5, $10, whatever. We’ll keep it going for as long as people are interested enough to keep it going.
Well the server lease expires today. There wasn’t much interest lately to keep it going. It may just be a bad time - lots of highly anticipated games came out recently, or it may be burnout since we played a whole lot together.
Maybe after the holiday gaming season ends the interest will pop up again and we’ll get another server going. But overall this has been a lot of fun and very successful IMO.
I haven’t been on in a while but I certainly had fun playing with everyone. Thanks, Senior, for setting up the server and organizing everything. And thanks to everyone else who donated!
Since it went free and I no longer had any excuse not to play, I’ve been playing like crazy and kicking myself that I didn’t spend $5 during any of the dozen sales before it went free.
My big problem on getting in on games in the past few months has mostly been hoping that my free time on the specific nights (especially the Saturday game) not being committed to something else, even if that something else is just my wife wanting to curl up and watch a movie.
I’ve had a blast when I’ve been able to join in, and if we can get some renewed interest in the new year, I’ll definitely try to join back in!
