We were driving down I-81 in southwestern Virginia a week or so ago, and saw a sign saying ‘Certified Business Location’ as we entered some county or other. I’d seen such signs before, but was inspired to look up just what the heck that meant.
Boils down to “it’s a shiny name we give ourselves to encourage businesses to want to locate here”, or some such - but interestingly, the SDMB was the first hit on Google:
Several years ago, I’d be interested in a certain SDMB thread topic I was reading and would google it to learn more about the subject…and the #1 hit would be that very thread. Used to happen pretty often, not so much anymore.
