Why does the Straight Dope search engine only go back 30 days?
It goes back further than that. See the menu box for options. See the one on top.
But usually what you’re looking for tends to be of fairly recent vintage. Also intensive searches are tough on the system and slow it down, especially during times of heavy usage.
So think about what you’re looking for before you hit the button.
