Searching multiple fora: A feature I hadn't known about

I haven’t done many searches lately, because I have little patience with the flaky engine. But a few days ago, I did, and noticed something interesting. It used to be, you could either choose one forum at a time from a drop-down list, or you could choose to “Search All Forums”. So if, for instance, you knew that a thread was in GQ or one of the Comments fora, but didn’t know which, you’d have to either do three separate searches, or wastefully search all.

But now, all of the options are shown in a little subwindow, and you can select any subset of the Board to search, by control-clicking or shift-clicking (the same way you would select multiple items on your desktop or in Explorer/Finder). So you can select to search just three fora, or just two, or all but one, or whatever you’d like, in one search.

So now you can get an incomplete, inaccurate set of matching threads from several forums simultaneously?

I didn’t realize we could select forums like that now. Thanks for the interesting info, Chronos.

Yep, that’s useful to know … thank you Chronos.
