Systems analysts work either in an organization’s IT (computing) department or in an organization’s business side working with the IT technical staff. They attempt to formally analyze an organization’s business process and then help translate the derived requirements to technical stuff working with programmers or vendors. The goal is to design, improve, or purchase an information system (computing system) that best meets that organization’s core needs.

Job requires excellent writing and analysis (including policy-driven research) skills, is intellectually challenging, and has a richer long-term career path than straight writing/editing. A good web search will provide you with details galore.

Just passin’ it on.
