Did anybody get Lotus Notes?
Nope. Quite a few guessed that it was Trillian, which I never would’ve thought to include. (Notes ended up standing in for FileMaker, which I couldn’t find a decent picture of – software icons can be surprisingly hard to find through Google Image search.)
Several teams psyched themselves away from Photoshop, too – it was Adobe’s new logo, so I had a few people go “That’s not what it looks like!” and I had to tell them to upgrade.
I’m in Seattle this week, and Cervaise has invited me to join you this evening. When/where do you meet? I need to sort out transportation, but otherwise I’m free to be there, and I’d enjoy meeting a few more Dopers!
FWIW, I’m in Tukwila, near West Valley Hwy and the 405. There seems to be fairly reasonable Metro transit to get downtown, though. I don’t have a cell phone, or, at least, I can’t afford to use mine here! I’d like to go downtown Seattle today, but it likely won’t be until about 2pm or so, due to homework.
It’s actually only one bus to get there from downtown, the number 17, get off at Market street in Ballard. I think it runs at least every half hour during rush hour, and I can’t remember which street downtown it makes it’s stops on. It’s about a 35 min ride from downtown, depending on traffic and stops. Bonne Chance and all that.
If you’re downtown, you can pick up the 17 at 3rd and Pike.
The gang meets at the Old Pequliar, 1722 NW Market St. Trivia begins at 8pm but people often arrive earlier.
I’ve been taking a class on Tuesdays so I’ve been missing trivia (and must miss tonight), but they’re a great group. Well, of course they are: they’re Dopers, therefore too hip for words. Enjoy!
The 15 and 18 buses also go from downtown to Ballard. The former will let you off a couple of blocks east of the Old Peculiar, at Market and 15th. The 18 lets you off at the same place the 17 does, at Market and 22nd, which is west of the OP. You can catch the 15 or the 18 downtown at any of the stops along First Ave. Just grab the first one that comes along.
By the way, I’ll be coming to trivia tonight. I need to hit McPhee’s for an office gift exchange item, then I’ll go hang out at the pub. If I’m first, I’ll look for one of the big tables. Do we need some indication on the table so our spot’s easy to find?

Hey, favor to ask on behalf of another team: Kevin from Komo 4 Problem Causers is hosting tonight. Morgen and some of the other people who usually play with him can’t get there at their usual 6:30 time. Can the earlybirds from our team save them a spot? 4 players, and they’re willing to share a table if necessary. I’ll try to get there around 7:00, but can’t promise anything, as usual. Lemme know if that won’t work.
If we can get the big table by the window and the stage, that should be big enough for both teams. I expect to be fairly early, so I’ll try for that table or get two tables if necessary. I hate spending 2 hours fighting off the sad people who didn’t get a table early, but I’ll do it for a good cause.
I assume the hosts will be spotting us 5 points in exchange for the table reservation, correct?

I’m hoping to be there, but the baby was a total asshole yesterday – if he acts up again today, it’s no fair to leave the hubby home alone with him again tonight.
On the other hand, if the kid’s a jerk today, I’ll really need to get away tonight. So, who knows?
