Seattle Pub Trivia 2013: One Quiz Leads to Another

Just heard from Interrobang!?, who is planning to be there tonight.

March 12

Jason hosts! Requested rounds: The Human Body and Soap Operas.

Audio round hint: Kevin Spacey singing “Mind Games.”

I will not be there because I was out last night and because I now have a nasty cold. You’re welcome. You should go to quiz, though.

I’ll go to quiz.

I’ll be there. “Soap Operas” could be gnarly, but I hope Jason will write a round for non-fans.

The former board member known as Cervaise (a.k.a. TFBMKAC) will be there.

In the immortal words of Michael Jackson, I’ll be there. Calling my name is optional.

I’m planning to be there, possibly with baked goods.

March 19

Tonight, Misty hosts at the OP, with a requested round on Baseball.

However, I’m going to go try the quiz at the Ballard Station, which I’ve heard good things about. They promise “no BS,” which is appealing.

NOTE: It runs 7 to 9, according to their Facebook event page.

Other info of note:

Anyone else at either place?

Sorry to be out this week.

I’m up for Ballard Station. Their website says the quiz is 7:30-9:30, though - I’ll try to call them after they open at 4pm to ask.

Cervaise can’t do a 7:00 start time, but is interested in the 8:00 OP quiz if some people want to go there.

I’m in, but I may be a couple of minutes late if it starts at 7.

I’m not sure when I’ll be finished at work, and I know I’ll be tired then, so I’m going to give tonight’s trivia a pass. Have a good time, all.

Update, from the Ballard Station themselves:

So stragglers are welcome. I should be there earlier to get a table.

General verdict on Ballard Station: The quiz was fine but unexceptional. We tied for first place with their regularly dominant team, and ended up winning the tiebreaker (which was shuffleboard).

Good booze selection, minimal food selection, though you can order from a few local restaurants or just bring food in.

Next week is MovieCat at the Central Cinema. Anyone interested? Mehal is hosting at the OP, which I’m generally fine with except that MovieCat is but once a month.

I’m out tonight, wherever you may be - my sister-in-law is in town!

I probably can’t come (to either venue), but hope springs eternal.

Do you guys ever do the Movie Cat trivia at Central Cinema? It’s a good time.

The winds of fortune are blowing toward staying late at work. Consider me out for this evening. Have a good time.

April 2

Hey, I’m in this week! Rampaging Fuckers host, with a requested round on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I am ALL OVER THAT.

Audio clue: R.E.M.'s “It’s the End of the World as We Know It.” (Leonard Bernstein!)

I have a thing downtown after work, so I may not get to the OP until 7:30-45 or so. Save me a seat.

Who else is in?
