second anniversary

Hey all!
My second wedding anniversary is coming up, and I’m trying to think of something nice to do for my husband. What do you think of my idea?

A framed copy of the lyrics to “The Air That I Breathe” by the Hollies. http://www.cae.wisc.edu/~gansler/hollies/holla2.htm
(the lyrics are halfway down the page)

I recently bought a 70s CD with this song on it and was moved by the simplicity of the lyrics, but the feeling behind them.

We’ll likely go out for a romantic dinner, too. Any opinions?

Lovely song and I always like a romantic dinner.

I don’t know what your budget is, but go look at this:
http://www.redenvelop.com/

Click on romance on the top, then poetics and look at the “love wishes” If you click on it, it tells you more about it. (sorry, couldn’t get a link straight to it)

I love that and think it’s so romantic. I’ve ordered from them before and was extremely pleased at the quality and quickness of shipping.

Let me know what you think of those.

2nd anniversary gift:

Cotton or Calico (according to NY Public Library Desk Reference)

Garnet (according to the Information Please Almanac)

A present a friend of mine gave her husband once, was a mini-photo album with pictures of him and her. I personally would like a present like that.

I know this might seem trite, but a book of love poems is always appropriate, e.g. Sonnets from the Portuguese by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

Or the modern vision, a romantic movie on videotape. One of my favourites is Roman Holiday (1953), by William Wyler, with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn.

P.S. and of course, your ideas sound great. Does your husband like that song too?

That would be a very nice gift, IMO, Zette! Something that’s meaningful and durable. Throw in that romantic dinner and I think you’ve got a winner!

Congratulations.

Boldly Going Nowhere

I agree with pluto.

But don’t forget to add some naughty fun into the night.

Ayesha,
I NEVER forget that part

He’s awfully hard to shop for- he buys himself everything he wants pretty much. I once did the song lyric thing to James Taylor’s “You’ve Got a Friend”, and he really liked it. He’s normally not very emotional, so you never know how he’ll react to things. Anyway, I’m sure it will be fun no matter what
