ETA: of course, the subject of the OP and “Endora” were both heavily made up for their characters, but when they appeared on talk shows or elsewhere were perfectly attractive Women of a Certain Age. That isn’t so common now with so many plastic surgery victims (witness the sad case of Angelica Huston)

I’ve always wished I had been born at least fifty years earlier. The 1920s must have really been something for the young adults who lived through it! 
My own grandmother was a flapper in her heyday. I have some really cool pictures of her, including her wedding picture, in a wedding dress of head-to-toe fringe. After her death we found an album that included some shots of her in knickers and argyle socks on the back of some guy’s motorcycle.
I can see where Ellie-May gets her good looks from.
