See what was number 1 on the day you were born

:smack: Hello,

All been at this today, see what was number 1 on any day.

Good site with plenty of good music info.

My birthday song is Hang On Sloopy, The McCoys!

My birthday song in the British charts is Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

USA charts - That’s the way (I like it) - K.C. + the Sunshine Band

(Not bad considering my birthday’s so close to christmas. At least it’s not some cheesy christmas song)

Bohemian Rhapsody rocks

I can help by bill swan, I have never heard of that song or artist.
My birthday song sucks! does any one here remember that song?

I Can Help is a great song! Don’t fret it, gris.

Me:
US: Just My Imagination by The Temptations (cool group but I don’t care for the song)
UK: Hot Love by T. Rex (ok, now THAT one I don’t remember)

U.S.: Stay, by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs
U.K.: It’s Now or Never, by that Presley guy.

(checking the big Cafe Society calendar)

Ahhhhh…I see it’s been nearly two months since the last time this thread came around.

That mean we’re about due for another “What’s Your Stripper Name?” in MPSIMS.

[sub](“Only the Lonely,” by Roy Orbison. Just like it was last time)[/sub]

Do you understand how depressing it is that the site doesn’t even go back that far?

UK, Tears by Ken Dodd (huh?, who?)
US, Yesterday by the Beatles (I’ve heard of these guys, I think)

unclviny

US: Centrefold by The J. Geils Band
UK: The Model/Computer Love by Kraftwerk

“My Love” by Paul McCartney and Wings, which I really can’t place. Not sure if I’ve heard it or not. Now I’ll have to look the silly thing up.

U.S. - War - Edwin Starr
U.K. - The Wonder of You - Elvis Presley

US - * The Eye of the Tiger* - Survivor
UK - * Come on Eileen * - Dexy’s Midnight Runners

Geeze, no wonder I’m screwed up.

US - Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel
UK - Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes by Edison Lighthouse

I don’t know what to make of this.

My songs are . . .

There aren’t any. Evidently, there was no music the day I was born.

However, it’s possible it’s one of these

US - Daydream Believer by the Monkees (perhaps this explains my childhood crush on Davy Jones?)

UK - Let the Heartaches Begin by Long John Baldry (I don’t want to even begin to speculate on this one!)

US: Magic by Olivia Newton-John
UK: The Winner Takes it All by Abba

I don’t know either of those songs. Dammit.

Kn*ckers, Magic is from that magnum opus of disco movies, Xanadu. I suggest you go out and rent it today!

La Isla Bonita- Madonna (UK)
I just died in your arms- Cutting Crew (US)

Hooray for new wave!

Groovy, man!

“Age of Aquarius/ Let the Sun Shine In” by the 5th Dimension

So that’s why I became a pothead!

US–“Tossin’ and Turnin’” by Bobby Lewis
UK–“You Don’t Know” by Helen Shapiro

What’s really depressing are all the Dopers born when I was in high school and college.
