See what was number 1 on the day you were born

Xanadu features a soundtrack (half) by ELO and co-stars Gene Kelly. I’d hardly call it a disco movie! Regardless, it’s still pretty crappy!

Apparently Max Carnage and I have the exact same birthday (or birthweek, most likely)!

(Just my Imagination by the Temptations)

Although, according to my baby book, the number one song was “Jerimiah was a Bullfrog” by 3 Dog Night. Who are you going to believe, some actual printed records or my mom!

(wow, so close to an “all-exclamation point” post!)

Mine came up on the US chart as " Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin" by Sly and the Family Stone. Never heard of this one before.

The UK chart gave me “Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)” by Edison Lighthouse, which is equally as unfamiliar to me.

I thought I’d try doing my life’s “theme song” (18th birthday), thinking for sure I’d remember hearing them. I don’t. They are “Seasons Change” by Expose (US) and "I Should Be So Lucky"by Kylie Minogue (UK).

I think this is a data mining scam to correlate birth dates with e-mail addresses.

e.g., all you guys who put in a 1950s birth date will mysteriously start recieving SPAM ads for Depends undergarments . . .

We share birthday, gobear.

On the day I was born, according to that site, the number 1 song in America was … “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction”, by some band called the Rolling Stones, whoever they are.

UK: All Shook Up by Elvis Presley
US: Love Letters in the Sand / Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear by
Pat Boone / Elvis Presley (shared No.1)

Lady by
Kenny Rogers

yikes

That is not funny.

My Bday featured “You are the Sunshine of My Life” Stevie Wonder topping the US charts and “See My Baby Jive” by Wizzard on the UK charts. I have no idea who and what the UK one is.

UK- Ashes to Ashes, David Bowie

US- Sailing, Christopher Cross

Christopher Cross??? i have no idea who that is, or why the US were loving him up when i was born… yet somehow i know that is a good thing

Sheesh! I didn’t realize my Xanadu comment would rile any feathers. You know, I only saw it once when it first came out but I still vividly remember the image of Gene Kelley on skates at the roller disco. Now there was an Oscar moment!

Ah ffs:
UK - The Human League - Don’t you want me
US - Olivia Newton-John - Physical

Mine suck:

US - Stayin’ Alive by the BeeGees
UK - Take A Chance On Me by Abba

Do You Think I’m Sexy by Rod Stewart in the US
Heart of Glass by Blondie in the UK.

Not too shabby.

Here in the U.S. it was
Brother Louie by the Stories…
what?? was that some sort of One-Hit-Wonder? One is left to wonder…

In the U.K. it was Young Love by Donnie Osmond …
you brits are so wacky! O.K., I know who Donnie Osmond is, but that somehow doesn’t make it any better…

It’s okay, I have been thinking about trading in my birthday for a newer model anyway:smack:

“Maggie May” by Rod Stewart was No. 1 in the US and the UK.

I clearly opened a can of worms by having a stupid birthday.

I’ll do better next life, I promise!

Running off to Blockbuster to rent the highly recommended Xanadu

It’s a tie in the US- The Green Door by Jim Love and Love Me Tender by Elvis Presley.

In the UK it was a Woman in Love by Frankie Laine.

I agree with Doghouse Reilly. Very suspicious. I wouldn’t do it. Remember, your birthday is semi-private information. And your email address definitely is private these days. If these people are honest, they would have just shown the results on a webpage. It’s much more difficult to mail results out, so they must have a good reason for doing it.

Even more suspicious is that it is posted as a first post.

Don’t do it.

Oh goddamnit. My life’s themesong is livin’ la vida loca :smack:

I’ve never heard of either one of my birthday songs.
