See You In A Couple of Months

I’ve decided to take a break from the boards as part of a life-changing process. In 2008, my grandmother and mother both passed away and I’ve begun to reflect on what I want to do and who I want to be. One thing that I need to cut down on is spending time on the computer. I spend 8 hours a day in front of a computer at work and spending more time when I come home just doesn’t seem right. I’d like to spend more time being active especially now that the weather is improving. I’ve started running and I’m hoping to be able to run (without any walking breaks) a 5k before the end of the month, I’m also hoping to become more involved with local politics.

This decision has nothing to do with the recent Pit drama or anything related to the Dope or fellow Dopers; you guys are awesome. I’m also pulling back on the Facebook, Twitter, and gaming.

If there’s another Toronto Dopefest planned or if you’re looking for another guy to join a fantasy sports league; fire me an email. I think I can layoff the Dope but I can’t shake the fantasy sports. Not yet.

This seems a little self-indulgent but I’d like to think that are some people that will notice that I’m gone and I just wanted to say it has nothing to do with all of the kerfuffle going on. Hopefully the board will still be here when I come back and it’ll be stronger than ever. Returning to the board is something that I plan to do but only after I feel I’ve taken positive steps in other directions.

See you all in a couple of months (possibly when Fantasy Football rolls around).

Well, I’m glad to hear that it wasn’t us TronnaDopers driving you away. I’ve been considering a bit of a pause and regrouping in my life too. May your transformation be fruitful and refreshing.

Live long, and prosper.

Toodles! Enjoy the break.

Just make sure you have Everything In The Right Place.

I know exactly what you mean about spending so much time in front of the computer- I get concerned about it, but I’d have to either quit my job or quit writing in my spare time, and I’m not willing to. But I understand where you’re coming from and the need to make changes in your life when big events happen. Good luck and have fun, Kid_A!
