It’s gonna take a lot of my day out. I might take walks, write a bit or just really burn out chat and livejournal.
Perhaps read War & Peace.
Anyone want to chat with me in the meantime can IM me.*
What about the rest of yous? You’ve been giving 48 hours.
[sub]Unless you a) are annoying b) I don’t like you c) you have severe ADD to the point that a butterfly lures you away from what you’re doing d) have nothing interesting to say e) George W. Bush[/sub]
I plan on posting at The Unaboard and at Fathoms. I also plan to hang in the chat and whine about the SDMB being down. Typical weekend for me actually. Oh and despite things I have said in the chat, I’m not really GWB, just his butt double.
Luckily, the board will be down for the days I’m moving to a new apartment. I would be too busy to post, and this spares everyone a lot of rants about how much I hate moving and how my mom drives me completely insane by rearranging stuff I just put in place, obsessing over contact paper and not getting the boulder-sized hints that it’s time for them to go. Plus, it’s going to be hot.
Aaaah. NO! It can’t be! Well, I guess there is just one thing for me to do. Go on vacation. Yup, I am going on vacation from Friday morning to Monday afternoon, so I am going to miss all this. Thank goodness because I would probably go through serious withdrawals if I didn’t have anything to do and the SDMB was down. Oh, well. Now I can have fun in L.A. Birthdays, hopefully Olvera Street (yummy taquitos), relatives. What more is there to life than these and the Board?
Luckily, I’ll be too tired and stressed with the show to be concerned about posting.
This is the final weekend… and the closing night cast party is going to be epic. We’ve got this big ol’ house out in North Hollywood for our boozin’ use (James Dean used to live there, way back when). Come Monday, I’m going to have many a-tale to tell.
Does anyone know where one gets one of those? And don’t tell me to use Google, either. I already checked, and they laughed at me.
Just kidding. I have more life than I WANT to have. But the SDMB helps me to handle that life that I have, and I will be bereft…wait a sec…most of that time I will be enjoying the company of Dopers at the Vancouver DopeFest! How lucky is THAT?
My posting’s kinda seasonal anyway - during the warm part of the year, I like to get out and enjoy it. So that’s probably what I’ll mostly do this weekend.
And since I post mostly to Fathom these days anyway, that should easily satisfy my posting needs until SD is up again.
I’ll tell you what I’m NOT going to do: I’m NOT going to tell Mr. Rilch. He will laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and then get up to relieve himself before he pees his pants and then laugh at me through the door and come out and laugh and laugh and laugh some more.
I will be discreet. I will spend time on some other sites, just to keep up appearances, and I will do things like make a sweet potato pie and go to see Planet of the Apes.
Well, I did something before I found this board, so that’s what I’ll do again. Assuming I can remember what it was - dammit, I knew I should’ve been taking notes. (You know, something like, “February 10: As yet unaware of the existence of the SDMB, I engaged in real life activities, including, um, sex, dog care, work, time with Loved One…or whatever.”)
Perhaps I’ll finish up my next project early so as to free up time for additional message board use. (Ha.) Perhaps I’ll get some sleep for a change. (Double ha. If I could sleep, I wouldn’t be here - I do have some sense of priorities.) I will certainly have sex with the LO a lot, but wait - I do that anyway. I will teach my Smart Dog to do the hokey pokey and turn herself around while I sing at her.
Um. This may just possibly be revealing how deeply pathetic my life was pre-SDMB. Which makes my current life - all that AND an addiction to electronic communities - doubly pathetic. I assume I’ll be getting some kind of Loser Award soon.
Well, it will certainly increase the amount of at-computer time I devote to my dissertation instead of the boards.
Thanks to Cranky Jr, I don’t get to sit down whenever I want even when the board is up. But when I do, I often “just look in” on the boards and end up staying too long.
But don’t you think for a minute that I’m going to be doing things like getting caught up on the laundry. Ha! It would take more than a board hiatus to turn me into a decent housekeeper.
I figured I’d be responding to all those e-mails I get from other Dopers. The ones who need a hit of my patented “Rue DeDay Nearly Incomprehensible Posts” with extra bad spelling.
That is, if anyone e-mails me asking for it.
-Rue.
I myself plan on kicking and screaming like a 4-year old little girl, crying because she can’t get a pack of gum from the display at the grocery store checkout line.
Tripler
But, that’s just me of course.
I rarely post on the weekends. Too many other things to do. It doesn’t take a lot of time to catch up on what’s been going on so I just won’t have to take that extra few minutes Monday to do that. I post at work on breaks and during lunch and I’m trying to cut back on that. It’s too easy to get caught up on the internet and ignore real life.
I do, but I rarely use it. I use the internet to cope with my boredom working nights, after 9 hours a night surfing the net I am pretty much sick of it when I get off work, so this isn’t going to bother me as much as if it happened during the week.
