Good thing I work Sunday. When I get home, I’ll surf around, respond to emails, work on my webpage and go to bed at a reasonable hour for once.
Rocking gently in the corner. Occassionally whimpering.
Well, Saturday is shabbat, so I can’t go on.
And Sunday is Tisha B’Av, the day the Jews mourn the destruction of the two Temples in Jerusalem, and the various pogroms and exiles by fasting, and being generally sad. So I don’t think I would have gone on anyway.
And Monday. Well, I just lost my job today, so I figure I’ll be busy looking for work and visiting the unemployment office on Monday.
I might actually go outside and perhaps meet other people. Really I planned to be away then anyway.
I had a great weekend planned already; I’ll be starting my vacation by going out with a bevy of beautiful Doper gals on Saturday, travelling to see my family and my new grand-niece on Sunday, and just hanging with Lola and the Feynnlings.
I think I’ll be too busy to even notice.
I’m away for a three-day weekend on Block Island, so I’m delighted with the timing.
I’ll be biking and climbing around on the bluffs over the coast and reading Boswell’s London Journals and eating steamed clams with cold beer and terrifying little Banjo and Pianola with stories of the shipwreck of the Palatine.
“…and late at night, especially when the wind is howling and the moon is grey, you can still hear the screams…”
I’m packing to move this weekend, not that it matters; I have no computer access on the weekends.

This is happening at a really good time for me!
The past week (and for the next few days to come), I’ve been hellaciously busy trying to complete a long-ass project with Tommy-Two-Ties… we should be done in the next week or so, and a few days off from the SDMB will only help keep me focused and on-task!
I’m only glad this happened while I was busy, and NOT when I had nothing to do!
I am actually leaving Florida and heading up to New York State this weekend for my friends wedding. I am really excited because I will see people I havent seen in almost 10 years. Needless to say, I wouldn’t be online anyway.
I’m moving as well. My rage of a million moving trucks will have to wait until sometime next week.
Well, that gives me something to look forward to right there
[sub]I also have no internet connection over the weekends…[/sub]
Hope everyone’s weekend goes smoothly!
I’m hardly here on weekends anyway, I do nearly all my posting from work. I’ll just be without the SDMB for 2½ hours.
I have DSL now. Unreal Tournament all the way, baby.
If you really want to kick my ass, just do a search for Slortar on UT’s game finder. I’ll either be running a small server or be on someone else’s…
Another “no internet access on the weekends” so it’ll be no biggie for me.
Of course, when I first saw Ed’s note, I didn’t know it was a weekend and I thought to myself, “Good lord, now I’m gonna have to figure out something else to do at work!” I mean, god forbid I should actually work or something!
We’re going out of town on Saturday to Higgins Lake and then over to Lake Michigan on Sunday, so no skin off my back.
It is going to be back up on Monday though, right? Right? Please, someone say yes!
I’m going to be packing up the contents of my kitchen to prepare for the remodeling job, and playing Scrabble® online at games.com.
(Anyone want to play? I’m tcreole over there. e-mail me and we can even set a time.)
I’m going to reformat my hard drive. It was time anyway, and this gives me an excuse.
I’ll be going here—> http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/html/entry/Big-Room.html
Perhaps I’ll see some of you there.
Like, Ballybay, I have something I’ll actually be DOING that’s worthwhile. I’ll be at the beach! Hurray!
[sup][sub]At Myrtle Beach, SC, trying not to snap and kill the entire side of my father’s family, who I’ll be living with for a week.[/sub][/sup]
I’m so excited!
[sup][sub]A whole week without email. A whole week without SD, talking to anyone. Like Catalyst, and Shogun Haircut. A whole week of my family. All of them, in one house. My senile grandparents. Aunt, uncle, children and their children and my own nuclear family.[/sub][/sup]
I’m looking forward to getting a lot of reading and relaxation time in.
[sup][sub]Does anyone live in Myrtle Beach? Can I run away and hide in your basement for a few days? I don’t eat much, honestly.[/sub][/sup]
Depends what the weather is like. If its nice, I’ll be painting some window trim. If its not nice, I’ll be painting a wall inside the house.
Either way, it definetly looks like paint is in my future.
