seeking cake recipe

Im trying to find the recipe for a Kamut cake/loaf I was given to try, but lacking the exact ingredients it’s proving a little hard. I’m not looking for kamut bread (so that’s out). This stuff was very similar to a pound cake/coffee cake type of thing. A dessert like product.

What I know for sure:

It uses Kamut flour (rather than the usual stuff) - this is key. Must have this.

Honey, and apple sauce.

Also some spices (Possibly cloves?)

Ive run a search through google, but no luck so far.

Anyone able to help?

Thanks

anyone?..(cmon people, I hyped you guys up to the gf. You’re gonna make me look like a :wally )…

OK, I can’t find anything specifically kamut, but according to this site, kamut can be substituted for the entire ammount of wheat flour in a recipe without making it dense as a rock. (i.e., do not try this with soy flour!)

It’s possible that what you’re looking for is a quick bread. Those have a consistency somewhere between coffee cake and biscuit. Corn bread, bannana bread, zuchini bread, etc. are “quick breads.” So try Googling honey applesauce spice quick bread and see what you get. (I got lots of really good looking hits. I can’t post the recipes here 'cause of SDMB policy.) Then make it substituting kamut flour for wheat flour in equal amounts.

brilliant, that might be it.

thanks.
