Seeking Good Exercise Songs

Yep, the title pretty much says it all, but let me explain exactly what I mean. They have to have a good beat. Something you could dance to, you know. I’m looking for songs from all eras, although they really do HAVE to be at least 120-130 bpm, because my MP3 player will only speed up songs to 130%, and it just doesn’t work unless they start out at that speed. All suggestions welcome!

Gina G – (Ooh Ahh) Just a Little Bit (about 130 BPM)
Vickie Sue Robinson – Turn the Beat Around (about 128 BPM)
Donna Summer – Bad Girls (about 120 BPM)
Jennifer Lopez – Let’s Get Loud (about 130 BPM)
Haddaway – What is Love (124 BPM)
E-Type – Hold Your Horses (140 BPM)
Chris Anderson – Last Night (120 BPM)
The Grid – Swamp Thing (135 BPM)

Steely Dan—Time Out Of Mind (136 bpm, I think)
Isaac Hayes—Don’t Let Go (dare I say 144 bpm?)
Lipps, Inc.—Funkytown— (around 126 bpm)

While the OP could rightfully be posted to IMHO and GQ, I think moving it to Cafe Society would be best.

I really appreciate all the song suggestions, and I hope to get more. (If it wasn’t for the message boards, I wouldn’t have my MP3 player now! So thanks again. :)) Don’t be afraid to suggest non-dance songs, if they’re fast enough. Sometimes all the dance beats do start to blur together!

A few more that I like (good West Coast Swing songs):

M People – Drive Time - (120 BPM)
Tommy Castro – Sho’ Enough - (124 BPM)
Vance Kelly – Wall to Wall - (128 BPM)

Ooh, ooh, ooh . . . I can answer this question! Go to www.collagevideo.com and check out their selection of exercise music. You can choose from 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, big band, jazz, rock, r&b, etc. Incidentally, you’ll also be able to find lots of exercise videos and DVD’s that never make it to mainstream stores. HTH
