Never happened to me personally (isn’t that always how it is?, but I was witness to a dream that my sister had that did come true, the night before her boyfriend killed himself by erotic asphyxiation…no kidding and I am not a reporter for the Weekly World News…really…
Any old way, in her dream she was at his apartment and he was naked and he told her that he was okay. Not a long dream. The next morning she was worried about him so we went over to his place. He wouldn’t answer the door, so Karen and I lifted Glyn to the window, whereupon she saw the body. We called the cops, et cetera. Now, my sis could have been very intuitive there, I suppose…
Dreamed about a foggy morning, really dense fog, and going out into the field at the stable I worked at to bring in one particular horse, a chestnut with a white blaze. Kept finding other chestnut horses, one with no markings, one with a star, one with a wider blaze. Then found him. Intense dream, very surreal without any reason to be surreal. Woke to a bright sunny morning. Told my sister about the dream on the way to the stable (we both worked there). We usually just did mucking out and sweeping, but that day one of the main stable hands was out sick, so we stayed later. Huge dense fog rolled in. We were assigned horses to bring in. I was assigned (guess!) a chestnut with a blaze. It was so foggy that we went together to fetch our horses, and sure enough, first chestnut we thought was this boyo had no markings. Second had a star. Third had a wide blaze. Then we found him. All the while, my sister is saying, ‘whoa, how freaky!’ Totally pointless, of course.
I swear it wasn’t a dream, but it could be that I’m wrong. At 3 months pregnant, I saw our son sitting on the foot of our bed, age about 2-3 years. He was running a red truck over the folds of the bedcovers (eerily silent). He was watching the truck, so I couldn’t see much of his face, but he was stocky and his hair was straight dark blonde with red highlights. His hair isn’t quite that ram-rod straight (close, though), but otherwise, that’s how he looks. Plus the gender being right. Oh, and that hair color isn’t usual in either of our families.
Speaking of my son, my best friend called me (at work) the day I got the positive result from the doctor. She had a dream the night before where he told her he was here. She told me I was having a boy, and that he had blue eyes (both right). She later had another dream where he told her I needed to eat more, because he was hungry - more protein in particular. Three weeks later (having increased my protein intake a bit, after hearing the dream), my blood pressure started to rise. My midwives assessed the situation and decided that … I wasn’t eating enough protein (even though I was well within the recommended zone)! Once I upped the protein about 20 more grams a day, my BP stabilized. (I need to eat about 100 grams a day during pregnancy, apparently.) Oh, and by the way, this friend lived more than 2 hours away, and we never saw each other, or even spoke much (I’m terrible at keeping in touch with people, and she didn’t have e-mail then).
Don’t recall any others that fit the category, off hand. I’m sure there are, though IIRC, mine all end up in the ‘really pointless’ category.
