Crap. Still no appointment and now the A/C that was installed nearly 7 years ago started going dead Wednesday night; no idea when we’ll have central air again. The portable unit that I put on a credit card is supposed to be deilvered between the 24th and 29th. At 14,000 BTU it should have enough power to cool half our 1000 sq. ft. We have two fans on the rabbit cage & bird cage (both are in the same area in the living room) until then.
Ack! I was in a similar position but without any power this weekend, for about 27 hours. Fortunately the weather wasn’t too awful.
Lucky was dropped off at the Animal Welfare League this morning to get snipped. Cost: $30
Waiting on mortgage refinancing to fix the A/C and, if approved in time to get in on the bulk deal, new windows and balcony door.
Wow, that’s awesome. Hooray for groups that help the owners of foundlings. :D. Hopefully the refi comes through soon. /crosses fingers
Eh, even if the bunny finds it too warm when he gets back from the vet, he won’t have the balls to complain.
Awwww!
Thanks for the photo update.
I thought bunnies didn’t like to be held?
(He’s adorable!)
Wow, he da LubBunny. Good on ya. I’ve noted bunnies like to crawl up the shoulder like that, is it common?
By the way, what happened with that long-ago kitten? Happy ending?
It has good taste. Dandelion is yummy.
One of mine just loves being held - as long as I keep petting him. Otherwise, he’ll start headbutting me to demand petting. If that doesn’t work, he’s out of there, and runs to my husband to look for petting and/or treats. The other bun prefers to sit next to you on the couch, and loves petting/treats as well.
He tolerates it and will start nipping at things when he’s had enough.
No idea. This one seems to prefer being in my lap, under my shirt. Must be the burrowing instinct.
Chippie? He had a tough time with being shuttled from place to place but eventually found a permanent home–with us! We figure his welfare outweighs some discomfort, and it turns out that the ferrets were the biggest source of allergens.
Ah, bunny! I am glad the bun is well! Snugglebunny!
[flails and dies from cute] From one lagamorphed-owned human to another, welcome!
Lucky’s on his way out. Went to feed him yesterday evening and found his litter pan moved to the opposite end of the cage and upended.
This evening, his litter pan was moved again and he was sleeping, stretched out where the litter pan was, a pool of urine and a pile of scat at his feet. Didn’t respond to the timothy nor his food.
Barely responded to being picked up.
Someone from animal welfare is coming to put him to sleep. You had a good five years, fuzzy friend.
Anyone want some unopened bags of rabbit food?
Aw, man. I’m sorry.
I am really so sorry. I didn’t see this thread when you first got Lucky, so I just now read through it. It was such a good thing you did saving him 5 years ago. Without you, that day you first saw him in the drainage ditch may have been his last. Instead he has been safe, and loved for 5 wonderful years.
You did good. Really good.
Sorry to hear about your friend. Thank you for rescuing.
I’m sorry. I remember reading about you finding him. I bet he had a good life with you. But it’s sad to say good-bye.
I’m sorry you lost the bunny,I think he had a happy life and a long one with nary a hungry, thirsty or frightened moment.
Real men not only love kittens but apparently bunnies and ferrets too…
