I was distressed to read the report that Seiji Ozawa has canceled all his engagements for at least a year because of his failing health.
Please, maestro, accept my warmest wishes for a speedy recovery.

I somehow mysteriously ended up with an LP of this album back in my teen years. I used to listen to it quite a bit but haven’t heard it in many, many years. That’s been my only contact with Mr Ozawa’s work.
Hope some time off will restore him to better health.
He came on the scene when I was in junior high, and my best friend – a talented pianist – had a massive crush on him.
Hope you feel better soon, sir, for N’s sake!
When he was the conductor for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in the 1960’s, he led and presented afternoon mini-concerts for us local school kids. Whole schools would attend. A bunch of them at once. And, they were during school hours!
Plus, he had long hair way before it was commonplace.
How could you not love him?
Get well, Seiji!
I’ve seen him in concert many times, and he’s a very animated conductor. His health issues, especially his back problems, would seriously affect his musicianship. Hope he makes a full recovery.
