In this episode the gang are visiting friends and Jerry’s girlfriend sees George naked and thinks he has a small penis and she tells George’s girlfriend and she leaves.
To get revenge on her George cooks eggs with lobster in them and feeds them to her (she is Jewish and can’t eat lobster)
Never liked that George did this. Normally when Goerge does something “bad” it is his response to frustration at some wacky part of society or something. Normally I see that George isn’t acting like a normal person might, but I can understand where he is coming from and sometimes sympathize with how he reacts to the unfair restraints society places on us
But this is just the most straight-up malicious thing George has done. I don’t like him for it.
I think the OP is right- it’s one of the few examples I can think of where George deliberately sets out to get back at someone. Mostly when he hurts people it’s a side effect of selfishness, cluelessness or social ineptitude.
Maybe the Bubble Boy was another example- didn’t he provoke him on purpose or something? It’s been awhile…
What looked like pushing – what looked like knocking down – was a safety precaution! In a fire, you stay close to the ground, amirite? … I risked my life making sure that exit was clear!
Not really. George was just really insistent that the answer to the Trivial Pursuit question was “Moops,” since that’s what it said on the card. Bubble Boy got really angry because he knew the answer was “Moors,” and the card had a typo. They were both being stubborn and overly competitive, but neither one was really being malicious… at least until Bubble Boy decided he had to choke a bitch.
I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to like him for it. While I agree with you that most of George’s bad behavior was not due to deliberate malice, he was generally not a very nice person and it doesn’t seem out of character to me that he’d seek revenge for some slight. I think he did so on other occasions as well, although the only example springing to mind is “The Comeback”, where he made a special trip to Ohio just to deliver the “jerk store” comeback. That’s not as bad as tricking someone into violating their religion’s dietary restrictions, but since George presumably knows other Jewish people who eat lobster (Jerry didn’t have a problem with it, did he?) he may have seen it more as bringing a holier-than-thou type down a peg than doing something really offensive.
EDITED TO ADD: I just remembered a better example of George seeking revenge, in the aptly titled episode “The Revenge”. George rashly quit his job, and when his boss refused to let him return (and insulted him) George decided to get revenge by showing up at an office party and spiking the boss’s drink.
