So, now that my XBox is thoroughly obsolete, I’m finally looking into getting XBox Live set up. Here’s the thing, though: $70 is a lot of money for something I may not use that much, so I want to know as much as I can before I make a decision.
Important things to know:
-
I play a lot of sports games, virtually all of which are online-enabled.
-
I don’t buy a lot of games, so I’m gonna be playing what I have for the most part.
So, lemme know your experiences, etc.
Recovering gaymer chiming in…
I had xbox live for one year, starting around Thanksgiving 2004, and it more than paid for itself in pure entertainment value within the first month that I had it, but I was basically doing nothing else but work, commute, and play Halo2 online. I also played Burnout3 and Crimson Skies, but not even anywhere near as much as Halo2…
I wasn’t planning on playing it that much, but oh well. Two things happened that got me off The Box: A) I met my girlfriend and B) I could never get my xbox back online after replacing the cheap-ass cable modem that my internet provider had given me (which had died) with the nicer Motorola that I had packed away in a box. I still have no idea why the xbox worked with the P.O.S. modem but not the Motorola, but I stopped caring.
