Selling on Amazon Marketplace

I’ve been selling stuff on Amazon Marketplace for a couple of months now. A few days ago, I got an e-mail from someone who says they bought an item from me a month ago, and never received it. I know why. Because I never mailed it.

In my Sold listings, it shows that she did indeed try to buy it a month ago. However, the SOLD column in Amazon includes not only items that actually sell, but also items that fall through because of invalid credit card numbers. Great system.

I do not recall getting a letter from Amazon saying that this item was actually purchased, nor do I recall getting one saying that the transaction fell through. I sell so much stuff, that it’s impossible to check the deposit statements from more than a month back.

So how in the heck can I tell if the thing was purchased, or if she’s trying to scam me? There’s quite a few items in my Sold column that were never actually purchased. That she waited exactly 30 days from the supposed purchase date to contact me seems a little strange.
