I’m interested in knowing how much people browse for sales of different things. From the point of view of a salesperson, it could be how many people come in without buying anything for each sale. Which items have the highest and lowest buying rates? For example, I’d expect women’s shoes to have a particularly low buying rate. What’s the rate like for cars? Houses?
It’s really going to vary widely. Some people view shopping as a hobby, and if they do buy something, they prefer to come back and return it. And they get pissed if you won’t refund or exchange because it’s something they kept for 3 months and is now inappropriate to the season (winter coats being returned in March, for instance). Others want to get in, make their purchase, and get out.
