Newfoundland found that it too was right between time zones (the meridian line that separates the two goes through St. John’s or something like that) so what did they do? Gave themselves a distinct time zone with 1/2 hour difference. (Granted Saskatchewan’s is a “de facto” distinct time zone, but they’re still technically Central). Looking at the map, it still would make sense to have all of SK be on same time as Alberta (exception of Creighton, of course, being on MB time).
I stand by my “crazies” comment. Especially since I’m a Bomber fan. (my mother was born in SK and I still have several relatives there, it’s a province near and dear to me, so the slurs are more of a friendly teasing. Absolutely no offense meant.)
I do fully agree with the “rest of the country being delusional” comment, I voted “no” on the poll because I still don’t see a need for DST, and do wish we’d all adopt SK’s system.
Maybe you could have two time zones, one for the East hemisphere, and one for the West. Twelve hours apart, so you’d even know what time it was in the other zone; the same, just am instead of pm, or vice versa.
