There was a cover of the song “somebody to love” on MTV about hmm maybe 8-10 years ago, the video featured that old cartoon “Cobra” with the blond guy in red with a laser for an arm. Does anyone remember who sung that cover?
Don’t know about the video, but George Michael, with the rest of Queen, did a cover around that time for a Freddie Mercury memorial AIDS benefit, I think.
You must be thinking of Matthews Sweet’s song “Girlfriend,” which features the musical hook from Jefferson Airplane’s song “Somebody To Love.” I’m not familiar with Cobra, but I know the video was almost entirely clips from a Japanese anime.
