I was lucky enough to have the most handsome date at the birthday ball last night. 
Happy 237th to my Devil Dog and all his brothers and sisters! Ooo-RAH!
Even though the US Marine Corps only dates back to 11 July 1798, they throw great parties and the big birthday cake at the chow hall is always available to us in the other branches, so I guess I’ll let them celebrate their birthday in November.
(The 1775 birthday is for the Continental Marines, which was disbanded in April of 1783).
I was born on November tenth, a fact I am somewhat proud of though I had nothing to do with it, really. Yes, I have thanked my parents. The gunnery sergeant who signed me up said I had no choice but to be a Marine.
